Update for 2018: My son is now nearly 2 and he is still a patient of Dr. Walker. My son had his third visit today and Dr. Walker was so patient with my son as he initially struggled with the exam (I imagine most toddlers do). But Dr. Walker didn’t miss a beat as he continued the exam while singing wheels on the bus, etc.. to my son which calmed him down. He was also not rushing through our appointment and took time to discuss any and all concerns we were having. After the exam, my son got to pick out a toy, a balloon and put his name into the no cavity club jar (so fun)! The office staff is incredibly welcoming and personable. It’s so great that we are starting our son out early with great hygiene habits and more importantly a positive experience with visits to the dentist. We still highly recommend Sammamish Pediatric Dentistry.
Original Review 2017:
We love Sammamish Pediatric Dentistry! It was important to me to take my son to a pediatric specialized dentist as it requires additional schooling/training and helps ensure a more positive experience for little ones. When I first called in the receptionist was super friendly and not rushed as she took her time to explain to me about their office, etc... She even looked up our insurance to help me determine any out of pocket costs ahead of time. Then my husband and I brought our 9.5 month old son in for his first visit. We were pleasantly surprised with how warm and comfortable the office was and it is decorated so well with a fun beach theme. The waiting area was very clean and well maintained. Our son was easily entertained with the toys in the waiting area while some older kids played nearby in an adorable beach hut with more toys inside. The office was outfitted in the newest technology which made checking in and filling out forms a breeze (no pens and paper to shuffle around which is hard to do with a baby). My husband enjoyed some complimentary bottled water from their mini fridge also in the waiting area. We were then taken back to a special room just for the babies that also had a great decorative theme of Dr. Seuss. Our son was so intrigued by the fun pictures, bright colors and toys in there too. The dentist was very friendly and informative sharing tips on how to brush our young son's teeth and gums. He showed us a couple of options which was helpful as it's hard to wrangle a 9.5 month old. He was not rushed and spent time going over all of our questions and concerns. Afterwards, they gave him a special baby toothbrush, a baby prize (bathtub duckie which he loves) and a bright orange balloon! He had a great experience which will make future visits a breeze! From my understanding, the dentist and his wife work as a team running their business and have 6 children together. It is clear that they know what they are doing and are passionate about the service they are providing and it shows in every detail. We are so happy to have found such a great pediatric specialized dentist in our area and it was a bonus that it's located in the same lot as Starbucks as any mom with a young child can appreciate! We highly recommend Sammamish Pediatric Dentistry!
