Last minute, lots of errors, lack of updates, poor explanation of rates. Errors on processing paper work.
Business response:
Amy, thank you for taking time to leave a review. Please allow me to recap and address your comments: Lack of updates- You received updates every single week, sometimes several times a week. You were constantly informed every step of the way. Not one time did you have to call or e mail us for an update. We pride ourselves on communicating throughout the process and closing on time, and I feel we did both. Rates- We locked in your rate .375% LOWER than where the rates were the day we closed. We could not have timed it any... read more

Not having to scramble and go to two other banks to get better rates only for you to essentially match what the big banks offer. It was incredibly stressful and an overall experience that I didn’t enjoy or expect to have to do.
Business response:
Thank you for your comment. I sincerely appreciate the input. I'm sorry you felt stressed at the end of the transaction. That was not our intent. It is very important to us that out customers have a positive experience. One thing that we offer, that most lenders don't, is a float down option. If the rate dropped at least .25% after we lock in your rate, we can float you down to the lower rate at NO cost to you. You purchased during a time frame where the market was extremely volatile, and the rates were all over the place. ... read more

VA required Water test was missed in the beginning and had failed first test causing closing delay. Second one had to be performed and paid by myself because first test was not performed right for an empty home.

Good customer service is based on respect of person and attention to details, which impacts the person obtaining the mortgage. We were dealing with a very challenging seller, who wanted to change terms 5-7 times during the 83 days leading to the closing. Sean helped with dealing with the sellers issues in order to move the process to a successful closing. I am new to buying property in Florida and would have benefited from more information from the loan officer, such as the requirement for wind, hurricane, etc. insurance, a... read more
Business response:
Hi Nancy, very surprised by the review. We spent hours dealing with the sellers attorney, in addition to dealing with your seller directly. She backed out of the transaction several times, and we were able to reel her back in. One of the main reasons this transaction closed was due to our involvement behind the scenes in making this happen. Closing date changed multiple times, in addition we had 3 of the best insurance companies in our area getting you quotes and you ended up with an amazing policy. Title company was chosen ... read more

Attention to detail was a small problem, if Anne Marie wouldn't have been reading every piece of correspondence, there would have been some mistakes made. In my experience, that's either an overworked staff, inexperience or trying to push things through. I was a little dismayed that you didn't take the locking in of rates as an important task. In the past, brokers were always trying to find a better deal and were always aware of when the 30 day period started. I really didn't see that with you.
Business response:
Brian, I appreciate you sharing your experience with me. Your feedback about attention to detail and the importance of rate locking is invaluable. I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, particularly in these areas. Ensuring accurate communication and offering the best rates are both priorities of mine. Thank you for bringing this to my attention—it's something I'll be focusing on improving. If you have any more insights or thoughts to share, I'm open to hearing them.

Sure, I've closed and am sleeping on the floor due to no furniture. The team could not recommend a date where the closing would be done until T-3days. For our things to get here takes +2weeks since they are coming from the midwest. Recommend working on specific deliverables/coordinate rather than looking at purchase agreement timing and working backward. Also, shop for appraisers if they can not meet FMT timing, they work for you! That is all, thanks.
Business response:
Thanks for the feedback...

The office staff gave us such short timing to gather all paperwork. For much paperwork, they needed it within hours. Our biggest frustration was how up until literally hours before closing, the Family Mortgage office staff was still requesting different forms of paperwork from us. We were unable to understand why everything was so last minute and why the FM team was unable to notify us more in advance. The staff is friendly, but please give us more notice on when paperwork is needed!
Business response:
Great suggestion thank you!
