I went to the Knolls back in 2007. I was a hopeless case, and pretty much everyone knew that. But being there and being sober, my life has changed. I was fed and housed far better than I had expected I would, and I received emotional support and counseling that was effective for beginning the most difficult and easiest part of my life. Serenity Knolls was what I needed to start a new life - without a drink or a drug since then - and completely worth moving, worth the money, and worth changing everything for.

I cannot imagine what Jeff J's deal is, with the one star. The only reason I gave 4 instead 5, is that I don't have anything to compare with. Yes The Knolls is expensive. What is your life worth? Plus, lifetime aftercare is included for the patient AND family. The counselors are all great and the owner, Mike, really cares. He is the real deal. If you are serious about getting sober, you will be given the tools and learn how to use them.

Serenity Knolls is a divinely healing place. For me, it was precisely where I needed to land in order to fully recover from my disease of addiction. The moment I stepped foot onto the premises, I felt supported and cared for in a way that I had never experienced. Each of the counselors possess a unique set of strengths and skills which they use to gently guide and encourage the alcoholic/addict toward a life of sobriety. They are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, understanding, and wonderful beyond words. I was a res... read more

if there was an opportunity to give this place a -100 stars I would. upon arrival things looked bright. but very quickly it became a long drawn out nightmare. I don't know where to begin but I'll start here, detoxing pretty hard, and being heavily sedated I wet the bed and the staff took my clothes and stuffed them in a plastic bag and put the bag in my closet. after about a week I started seeing double, I told the medical staff that and they shrugged it off. later that night they noticed I had a 100.5 fever and had an ambu... read more

Positives- This place has a great location with beautiful views Good food and a decent facility Negatives- Some of the staff are rude and act like you're burdening them when you ask for basic things.. ie. I snore, and it looks days for these people to save my roommate the missed sleep despite the multiple rooms that were empty. And when they eventually finally did they repeatedly brought it up like they were doing me a favor. - they take your phone with the exception of an hour a day, and even then, you have to be in ... read more

Not a place I would ever want a love one to go again. The female therapist encouraged some of the most unhealthy behaviors and mind games on a family member to get them isolated from everyone else. Needless to say, night one and the family member of ours didn't go home. Calls to therapists went unanswered. No real post care treatment plan. Of the 4 people we know who went here, nobody remained sober. Incredibly disappointed and there's so many more successful centers out there. Avoid at all costs

This place used to be magical when it was owned my Mike Neustadt. Its far from magical now. Im alumni from this program in 2007 for 90 days. I was thrown out of this program last week for doing nothing more than demanding a room change for 5 days. When my requests were ignored the only threat I made was to call their corpprate compliance line posted on the wall and was my right as a client. My roomate had pneumonia and a staff member had died from the same condition just days before. The so called Clinical Director Linda not... read more

I went to the Knowles for a dual diagnosis of bipolar and drug addiction. For me they go hand in hand. I was excited to get dual treatment at the same time and place. I agree the place is like one big family while your there. The program is a 12 step based addiction recovery program with wonderful education and presenters. My problem was I had to beg for a mental counselor after a week there. What I got was an intern that stated "that's above my pay grade" at our first meeting. Please be aware of this this before you go. I ... read more
