I understand loan officers don't know exactly what and when changes would be made to the rates, but I would like my loan officer to give me aheads of when the rates were changing and not wait to the same day the feds were meeting.

We ran into several surprise requests frequently even though we started the process with ample time and made ourselves available to provide information and documentation. We had very difficult request minutes before the closing ceremony!!!!..... we had to bend back and forward to satisfy these last minute requests. The process worked out at the end and we are happy with the outcome, but there's definitely opportunity to be more proactive with the document gathering and checking procedure.
