Get directionsI cannot reccomend Shirley Ryan AbilityLab enough. Their staff got me back on my feet after cancer surgery and did the same to my aunt.
Business response:
Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback, Kenneth!
This place is legit. The best of the best. Anyone that reviews less than five stars has no idea of what services are across the country. We are so lucky to have these kind of facilities and services nearby.
Business response:
Tim, thank you for sharing your positive feedback!
The doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists are hard working. They are committed to getting you well.

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback, Sally!
Helpful. Expert. Caring. The best PT we know of, and we have been to many places. The teen pain clinic is in our opinion the best there is. I can't recommend them enough.
A great and well thought concept for those who love nature, outdoors and architecture in comparison to the old RIC building they occupied previously. The great terraces, outdoor spaces, outside balcony gardens have great views of the city. The have nice colorful seating available, a chapel and meditation room.
This place is incredible. Saw Dr. Hynes - she and her staff were excellent. Called in the morning, got an appointment on the same-day, X-ray and MRI done on site, then sent to session of PT (down the hall). Fast, nice, efficient, and top-notch care. 10/10 would recommend. Even the cafeteria is great.
Had my first visit with Dr. Ihm this week. He was very courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He carefully explained the X-rays that were taken by the staff. He prescribed medication for my back spasms and set up rehab sessions. He answered all the questions I had during my visit. He also gave me his direct phone number. Later in the day, I had another question and I left Dr. Ihm a voice mail. He called me back the same day with the answer. I am very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Ihm and the RIC.
I advocated for my loved one to be sent to RIC after a spinal cord injury that left them a complete paraplegic. Harder than being the patient is being the companion, the supportive family member, or vigilant friend that has to live in these hospitals alongside the patient. This facility really is amazing, but I say that and then I remember that no one discussed the fertility effects of SCI, and some other private but significant details that should be standard and immediate conversations; F-in this arena. A+ in the area of ... read more
Business response:
Dear Faith K., Thank you for your comments about the spinal cord injury treatment provided your loved one while at RIC. We are pleased to have earned your endorsement as the "best facility in the country." We take all of your feedback very seriously and have shared it with our team. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Sincerely, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
Nothing but kudos! We had a bad experience with someone who almost made us lose our faith in medical professionals (see my review on the therapist at Masonic) Between this we went to an outside place who eventually sent us here. It took some time, but everyone at RIC is so patient and genuinely caring. You can tell they are not here "for a well paying job that pays for their beer and clothes" These people really care. Our therapist (I don't want to mis-spell her name so will add it later) was kind, gentle and understan... read more
