It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. Came for lunch with my fiancé and sat up at the bar. Our server was Robbin and she was very friendly and attentive! We ordered the fried popcorn shrimp basket and the food was hot and fresh - we were very happy. The cocktail sauce is good and has a little spice kick to it! Will definitely come back again
We had the BEST experience at Shrimp Basket. We had lunch at 11:00am and ordered the all-you-can-eat steamed shrimp and catfish. It was AMAZING! The catfish was so delicate and perfectly fried, not greasy or heavy. The shrimp was equally divine. And my gosh, order the sweet tea by the gallon! The service was above and beyond. Our server was so attentive and always one step ahead. Top notch experience! We will dream about this place! 😄
It's not a fancy place, but don't let that fool you. The food is very good and the service is very good as well. They have plenty of seafood offerings as well as a burger selection. I had a shrimp po-boy, and my wife has the blackened white fish. Both were very good. Others in our group had raw oysters (they are a Tuesday special). They were well presented, and they said they were very good. If you haven't been there, give them a try. I think you'll like the Shrimp Basket too.
This is a good little hometown favorite if you want simple food. Every entree from the pasta to the PO Boy’s is MORE than enough food for one person. BONUS: If you have Robin as your server, she is friendly and responsive. You will not want for anything if she is your server. I would recommend arriving before 7:30 PM during the week to avoid the dinner rush.
We went to the shrimp basket for the first time. They had an all you can eat special my son got the white fish I ordered the seafood basket. Everything came out nice and hot. We were thankful to get Evan for our waiter he was polite and attentive. However it would have been even nicer to have some lemon with our seafood.
