Long ago and far away I had 9 teeth extracted that only had tiny pin hole cavities. It was my first dental visit; I was 15 years old. I had a terrible infection, then 6 weeks later I started wearing my partial denture. 6 teeth of the partial denture were front teeth with very bright pink gums. I was so embarrassed by the way my ‘new’ teeth and gums looked that I hid my smiles behind my hand for over 30 years. The ‘anesthesia’ I was given was a piece of gauze that had ‘ether’ dripped on it.
