We are very pleased with South Park Animal Hospital. The entire staff is so nice and sensitive to both the pets and their humans. They take the time to explain everything so that we clearly understand the situation. Everyone goes beyond what is expected. We highly recommend this place.

My husband has been in charge of vet care since we moved to Austin. This is the 2nd veterinary clinic we've brought the dogs to since we've been here. I have not met any doctors yet, but my husband said those he met are terrific. I brought one of our dogs for the 2nd part of a vaccine. I wasn't sure if I would have to leave her all day or if they could do it right away and I could bring her home before going to work. Friendly, convenient and reasonably priced! Perfect example... I called this morning (no appointment) because I thought my dog had a tick deep in it's skin, but I was not sure and felt uncomfortable removing it myself. They paired me up with a tech and said I could come in withing 15 minutes of calling. They quickly analyzed the issue, which turned out to be a false alarm, and did not charge me for a full visit! I not only suggest them to the public, I recommend all my South Austin friends use them as well!
Came here because of the good reviews and couldn't be happier we chose this clinic! Our senior husky is SUPER anxious at the vet, he gets so nervous you can hear his teeth chatter. :( we arrived for our very first visit and was welcomed by the staff and put into a room immediately. I moved to Austin earlier this year. We had an amazing vet so I set out to review a zillion Yelp reviews of South Austin veterinary practices. Several were basically good, had good reviews, but they were too expensive. Then I reviewed South Park Animal Hospital, they had really great reviews. My little guy had a serious adverse reaction to his first Lepto vaccine when he was a young pup, which landed him in the ER, crying/yelping when touched, with a swollen and untouchable shoulder. Yesterday we went to our vet, Dr Thompson, at #southparkanimalhospital to get his Distemper/ Parvo, Lepto, and Rattlesnake vaccines. I can't recommend this place enough! We have a two year old dog who struggles with anxious aggression around strangers, so vet visits are a serious ordeal every year. We initially took her to Thrive; however, the last time we went, the employees treated us as though we brought an untamed lion in and were super judgmental. I've been coming here for over a year and I really enjoy the staff. It is helpful that there is a separate car and dog entrance. My fur baby doesn't mind cats, but he's always very curious and cats/cat owners aren't about it so it helps keep him in line. There is a big refreshment area with drinks for customers and there are always snacks for you pet I wish I didn't have to come here so often, but I think I've seen almost all of the vets and have had no complaints.
