It was nice to be able to make a reservation for a group of 8. Food and service were excellent. Enough variety for everyone to find something they liked.
This is a great restaurant, overall. One thing I would caution diners on is their "surf and turf". Although the menu reads like you are getting a small filet and a lobster, it is actually a filet with lobster claw pieces mixed in with the risotto. Had it not been for the waitress explaining this to us, there would have been two unhappily surprised diners when the meat came out.
I always have a great time at Stone Creek. The bread and seasoned olive oil are amazing and can't be beat. The service is wonderful and the servers are attentive and competent. Always a great experience.
We have been to Stone Creek many times. This time we were out to celebrate a significant birthday. The problem arose when I decided to go for the 'Surf and Turf Medallions'. Here is the description (copied from the menu): Beef Tenderloin Medallions, Lobster, Asparagus, Tomato, Parmesan Risotto It came out as tenderloin medallions alongside a risotto of lobster, asparagus, tomato & parmesan. We have been to Stone Creek several times and have found our experience to be consistent ly good. It is reassuring that we have a place to take people that is reliable in quality of service, food and atmosphere. We have had some guests dine with us who found the place to be a bit noisy for their taste, and if you sit too close to the bar that is a given. We never had an issue. Love the carrot cake!!
This is the fourth or fifth time we've eaten here over the years, since the location in Montgomery is so convenient and the food is decent. Looking back I can't think of a single seating area that left the impression of enough personal space for relaxed dining or attentive serving. This last time found a family group of about twenty pressed in one long line of tables between two rows of booths. Good service and food on a busy Saturday night.
Great food and nice setting in downtown Montgomery! We went on New Year's Eve so waiters were quite busy but it was a nice time. Parking garage is available beneath restaurant.
