I've always enjoyed Stone Creek in Plainfield. I especially like to get there right at 5:45 to enjoy the Early Bird Menu. I generally get the Horseradish encrusted beef, but this time had the beer battered shrimp, as I am Catholic and it was on a Friday. The shrimp was excellent as well. I think I could make a meal alone on the bread and dipping oil, it is by far the best of any other breads served at other restaurants.
The chefs special tasted terrible to much going on. The shrimp in the angel hair pasta dish was dry and my smothered chicken was also dry.
I go to Stone Creek quite regularly but tonight was the first disappointing experience I have had. I had made reservations but then was offered a table by the drink station! I do not make reservations ahead of time to be seated by one of the worst tables in the building! I had the fish tacos which one of them tasted a little off to me but the other two were fine.
