I have been in the Kansas City area for 3 weeks. I setup a consultation at 2pm on Saturday a couple days prior to my appointment. The Salon called and ask me to come in early. I was able to do so around noon Saturday. My actually appointment was set for the following Thursday. I called after getting lost on my way for a bit on Thursday evening. I'm sure the stylists here are great but I will never find out because of how terrible the management is. I called to speak to a manager about booking hair and make up for my best friends wedding; the receptionist informed me she texted and left a note for her manager to call me back. Two days later I had not heard back so I called thinking I skipped threw the cracks, no biggie salons are busy. I went to Studio 39 Salon expecting an amazing balayage. I was left disappointed and in tears. I fully understood that what I wanted could take up to three sessions, but the stylist, Taylen, did not communicate that it would cost $600 to achieve. My first and only session costed $230, $170 for the balayage, $45 for the cut, and $20 for the toner. We even gave a $40 tip. I can hardly tell a difference. Stylist aren't very knowledgeable about different types of hair. When I booked my appointment I advised the receptionist I have very curly hair. When I showed up for my appointment one of the stylist sitting in the lobby told the receptionist she would tell my stylist I was there. Then when I get to my stylist chair she tells me that she needs to do all these type of extra treatments in order to comb my hair out because it's really really curly and dry at the ends. I really wished I had a great experience like everyone else did. I loved the atmosphere and the girl who did my hair because she was so talkative and sweet. Not so much her service and knowledge though, it wasn't what I expected. I have a blonde balayage and I needed a retouch since my roots have grown out. First, she couldn't do it right.
