We currently foster a bunny named porky. He was actually diagnosed with the snuffles . Upon doping him off with us, the rescuer had told us that porky has to be seen by Dr. Bob because he is so good with porky. A few weeks ago Porky's snuffles flared up so it was time to make an appointment with Dr Bob. We called Superior Animal Hospital and Dr Bob was able to get Porky in that day to see him. I have taken both of my dogs here since they were puppies and would not bring them anywhere else. The appointments always start immediately when they are supposed to. The staff is very friendly and do what they can to make sure your pet is comfortable and at ease. The vet tech gets down to the level of your dog and rubs their belly and talks to them the whole appointment. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable and take all of your concerns seriously. I really like these guys. I wouldn't bring my dogs anywhere else. Their prices are fair, and they're more than willing to let you know how much things cost. They provide informative sessions, and I think that the employees at Superior Animal Hospital genuinely care about the pets they see. I truly feel comforted when bringing my pups here!
We have used Superior Boarding Suites in the past and have always been happy. We recently boarded our two dogs with different dietary needs there. Their food was clearly labeled, I gave detailed instructions and was assured my dogs would be fed accordingly. When we picked them up, they had fed my shih tzu the wrong food resulting in him being sick for days. I inquired as to what had happened and I didn't hear back so I had to follow-up myself. my 14 year old dog was very sick, I had 2 vets for him, 1 in duluth and superior animal hospital...he had a collapsed esophagus and a tumor pushing on his lungs, he could not breathe and he was suffering. I called superior animal hospital for help weeks in advance. We have been bringing all of our animals there and have decided to switch. I am disabled and have had to reschedule two of my pets exams mind you I was just there yesterday with my pup but was informed today because it was the second reschedule I had to do within a year "because my pain levels will not allow me to leave the house," That in order to make the appointment I would have to pay 50.00 up front per pet I was bringing in that day. Too bad. My boyfriend and I have had mostly positive experiences with them, until my last appointment. It was an unscheduled, urgent care visit, for my cat who was having stomach issues. Vomiting, diarrhea, all that. And a distended abdomen that they didn't seem to catch in the physical exam-- it took an x-ray for the doctor to notice. Anyway. I felt like they were selling me a car or a coffin when talking to the assistants. We walked out after spending $375 on a healthy dog. Won't be going back. I want my dog to have a personal vet. The vet just came in and talked to us for a minute or two and all the rest was done by the assistants.
Although this veterinarian is excellent in its care of animals, I will not be returning, except to complete the well puppy package I purchased. Their prices are outrageous! I was going to take the puppy there to be spayed, but they told me it would cost $525!!! And that was with a 5% discount for having purchased the well puppy package. I asked for that figure to be double checked, and, yep, that was the price.
