I had a great experience with Ben Fargo at Tax Relief Helpers. He was empathetic to my situation, took time to explain everything clearly, and is very responsive when I call or text him. He told me that the $500 is to pull transcripts and the retainer fee and that an additional fee will be added once they have the full scope of the case and the resolution options. I truly felt supported throughout the process and would absolutely recommend working with him and his team.
What a great experience. Dealing with tax debt, I was definitely nervous going in and handling the issue at hand. Not really knowing what I had to do, they made sure I was well informed and got me back on track with my tax debt. They've definitely brought value to my financial situation. I would give them negative 9000 stars if I could. For the money that they collected without any resolution or clarity. It is so messed up I feel awful for anyone that also fell for their tactics. They pray on people that are overwhelmed with tax debt that want to do the right thing and make payments. I was made to believe that they were working with the IRS on my behalf to lower my liability. Deceptive practices, urgent pressure tactics, read BBB reviews before proceeding! Will tell you their first fee covers everything you need to get resolution, and then provide a number that is supposed to resolve the IRS situation and you're to send it to them directly so they can pay the IRS. When you question that and dig further, you find it's actually their second fee. And we're talking tens of thousands of dollars.

Ever hear of the TCPA or DNC list? Neither have they. When asked to speak to someone to get my number of their list, they hung up. Shady is a word that comes to mind.

I would stay away from these guys. They are straight up crooked. They insisted on a deposit of $500. Once I sign the contract and gave them a deposit, they changed to quoted price from $7,500 to $22,500. Then they wanted to immediately finance the $22,500 with another guy in their office under "Covered Care". The finance guy told me to lie on the application and say my monthly income was $12,000 a month so I would get approved. This is the biggest red flag I could imagine.
