Do not get into contract with them! When I joined the woman tried getting me to make an appointment for a personal trainer. I politely declined and told her I am out of shape and have to do this at my own pace. I asked her to please note in my account that I will reach out if and when I decide to make an appointment. Well, starting the next day I received at least 5 calls a day asking me to make an appointment with a personal trainer. I asked several times for the calls to stop as this was aggravating and changed my mind set... read more

Hi Raymond, we do try to encourage members to utilize their complimentary fitness assessment upon joining. However, we apologize if the follow up felt too intense. That was not our intention. In regards to the annual fee, please reach out to our member experience team with your full name so they can look into that and assist - edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of this Edge location since it opened. I had an extremely positive experience training for several months with staff trainer Joe Brown. Another major attraction that inspired me to initially join this gym was a very unique feature not found in other gyms : the cardio cinema room. I recently discovered that they are doing away with it and install installing a power lift room in its place. As a member for almost 6 years, and as a visual person watching a movie is a staple of my routin... read more

Business response:

Thank you so much for being a loyal member of our Edge family for nearly six years! We are thrilled to hear you had such a great training experience with Joe —we'll be sure to share your kind words with him. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the Cardio Cinema. We understand how important that space is to your routine and that its popularity is a testament to how much it's enjoyed. Decisions to update our facilities are never easy, as we strive to balance the diverse fitness needs of our entire community. Your voice... read more

Stay away from this "gym". They lie upon joining . They claim to have a zero$ dollar enrollment fee which is a lie. They will charge you a 40$/50$ "ANNUAL FEE" 40 days into your membership. This is the guide in which they hide. JUST BE HONEST. If I'm a new member why am I being charged this and what is an annual fee? It's a scam. Facilities are unsanitary, especially sauna. Over crowded. Staff "rude and entitled". Your better off doing pushups and situps in your living room than getting involved in this poop show. Zero star... read more

Business response:

We strive to be transparent about our fees, even going so far as to post all of the info on our website for public viewing that you can look over before joining: https://www.theedgefitnessclubs.com/support/membership-pricing. We also take cleanliness and customer service very seriously and regret to hear that we did not meet your expectations in these areas. Your comments will be shared with our team for review and improvement. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

We joined Edge Fitness when the gym first opened. We decided we wanted to leave after 2 years. We were told we had to give a months notice & told because we were 2 days past the time given we would then be charged an annual charge. In addition, we are stuck here for 2 months because of our timing. We never received an email stating that our membership was up. My advice to anyone joining this gym, to make sure you don't sign any contracts!

Absurd cancellation policy. You can only cancel if you have a doctors note saying you can no longer come to the gym, or if you can prove you moved at least 10 miles away. Try to cancel and they will basically say NOPE. That's if you can even get a response from them. Terrible terrible business practice in my opinion.

Business response:

Hello David, our members are able to cancel at anytime after the initial agreement term has been fulfilled. In situations of move, medical or military, early cancellations are considered. We are sorry to hear that our membership agreement is not a good fit for you and wish you well with your fitness journey.

One star is too many. I have diabetes and asthma and can't go due to Covid. They have a script they read. They won't let me get out of the contract and said they enforce mask wearing and cleanings....... They are not understanding that I am not risking my life to go there. They can freeze the account for a couple months, if I get a doctors note, but there after will go to collections if I don't pay.

Business response:

Hello Carl, we can absolutely accommodate you when a medical note is provided. Please reach out to us at edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com, so we may assist you further.

I had an appointment with Jasmine to try out the gym with a free pass for a workout. Jasmine was no where to be found. I waited 10 minutes and finally asked if someone else could let me work out. The manager took my id and I worked out. I wasn't able to get on several nautilus equipment machines because clients were camped out on their phones while working out. I also didn't like the green rug that they use instead of mats for everyone to walk on and lie on and sweat on. I would have to bring my own mat if I wanted t... read more

We all know that canceling gym memberships are painful experiences but this is above and beyond. Let alone the fact that anybody should be able to cancel gym memberships when there is a pandemic/act of god/force majeure because that language isn't written into the signed contract. What is in the contract however, is in Pennsylvania, every health club follows the Health Club Act which states that every club must add some provisions in a contract allowing a buyer to cancel their membership. One provision states that the buy... read more

The facility is decent given the cost of membership, as long as you're willing to deal with completely incompetent staff.
