The first stages of the process were good, and the individuals on the front end were very communicative. The final stage, just before closing, was not as great. I think it's called the closing department, the communication was lacking, and multiple changes at the last minute made the closing day not as pleasant or happy as it should have been. The team I worked with on the front end was great. Nic Smith and Sasha Wilson were extremely helpful, responsive, and supportive.

Bank should advise borrowers to not sign closing documents until new construction is completely finished, but since this bank is partnered with ROCKLYN Homes I do know this statement will fall on deaf ears.

I wish as a first time home buyer the documents were more clearly explained and calls/video calls should have been scheduled. I often felt very hesitant to reach out to the team as there was a lack of warmth. The overall process was smooth, but I mostly didn't know what I am signing, and there was little proactiveness. I missed out on 5.80% interest rate because I wasn't able to set up time to talk with someone who can walk me through rate locking and all the nuances of loans. My final rate was 6.625%.

Better communication. I asked a lot of questions that didn’t get answered and the day before closing many of the same questions came up and everything became a rush
