while the spoke has some issues, i think the 1 star rating is a bit harsh. it's not perfect, but the buildings are pretty old compared to other apartment complexes and I think the price is somewhat affordable considering it's location. i've noticed most apartments in central davis are older, but the location makes up for it. i currently live in a one bedroom apartment and the bedroom is larger than most other bedrooms that i saw when i was touring apartments. it's definitely worth the price compared to other apartments since... read more

The location is nice because it is in the middle of Davis, especially being a few minutes away from Downtown. The staff are friendly when you talk to them in person. If you do try to call them or email them, expect either a no response or a very long response. Wi-fi is horrible. Pretty fair price for a one bedroom (around $1800 a month)

Horrible place to live if I could give a negative star I would. Just moved out after graduating when I first move in the place was nice but realized it was mold infested. What they do is they cover up the mold with cheap plastic and throughout the year it breaks down and the walls get damaged I asked them to repair it but the service took months before it was fixed. Upon move out you'll likely be hit with charges similar to these pictured. I don't understand why there are two separate water charges. And nobody will answer the phone if you call for clarification. And $85 for rent? Rent was due on the first of the month. Probably charging for 1 day of rent (for Aug. 31 or Sept. 1) even though we've been out for a week already. I don't usually leave reviews and try to handle matters on my own, but I had to write this. I originally enjoyed living at the spoke, however after moving out they refuse to return my security deposit or any accounting for it. It is not because of deductions, as I had my inspection and they told me exactly what would be deducted (small damage and a fee) It is because the office and accounting department simply refuse to return it. If I could give them 0 stars I would . I moved in today September 16th and was charged rent for the first two weeks of the month because they had to " clean up and renovate " . This place is neither renovated nor clean . It is a complete disaster with mold everywhere . You can see the pics below and judge for your self . Also rent is $1640 ( not cheap ) .

I really like how close the apartment complex is to downtown Davis and also the university itself just a 5-7 minute bike ride there or you can also take the bus there too! So far when it comes down to questions or problems needed to be addressed the management team was quick to respond to our issues! I enjoy overall the environment, living, and also the amenities they offer too like the cute gym they have.

Literally one of the worst places you could live in Davis. When we first moved in they promised us a dishwasher, we even got it in writing. Come moving day thu stick us in a unit with no dishwasher, then they changed us a relocation fee to switch to a unit with a dishwasher. Later, the hot water goes out for literally a week and a half with NO notice. No email no letter on the door nothing. I had to shower at the gym for that week and a half. An update to what was previously a very positive review: After a decent experience living at the spoke I moved out this past June. I received a check for my damage deposit reimbursement with a substantial sum removed. I contacted the spoke to receive an itemized receipt for the charges, they said they would get back to me. As of writing this review 6 months later I have not received any additional information beyond stalling when I've requested an update. Very disappointing.
