I just lost my husband two months ago. I finally felt I could seek help for my major depression that I've been battling for so long and it's only worsened! I missed ONE appt and they refuse to waive the no show $90 fee. I asked them, as a courtesy l, if they can waive that for this one time. I was finally able to open up. Family member was getting care there. The provider quit do to the company treating them poorly and the patient was left completely without care. The billing department was a nightmare and the customer service were completely incompetent.
My wife and both use Thriveworks. We found out after 4 sessions that my wife is charged $99.00 and I'm charged $250.00. I was told because of insurance. This is a big problem. After a great deal of time on hold and waiting for the 24 to 72 hour return call policy, yes...they will return your call in 24 to 72 hours. I said what if i'm not home? This is a big problem. I've had the WORST experience with Thriveworks! I do not understand how they are a therapy network, and they cause their clients so much unnecessary stress. Whew, chile. Let me tell you... I have an amazing therapist, but the billing department at Thriveworks is incompetent! I changed my health insurance in November and called in to notify them to update my new insurance info. This company is a total scam! I can't believe that a company that offers mental health services and counseling would scam their customers! They charge a monthly fee of $39 plus the fee per session. I had a total of three sessions in November of 2021 and cancelled my membership in November. I received a charge to my credit card in December of 2021 and have reached out to the company over 5 times with no help as to resolving this wrongful charge. I called Thriveworks for counseling. They scheduled me with a "Karen" out of Riverview, Florida. She used almost the ENTIRE counselling session to explain intake documents to me in which I already understood. She only used the last 10 minutes asking me just a few questions about myself and then ended the session to which I was charged $100 out of pocket! This business takes advantage of their patients. I made an appointment with them as a struggling mother looking for help for her children. I was big on the cost aspect of the appointment as I am not rich. The lady on the phone informed me that I would be getting an email letting me know how much the appointment would cost and if I did not receive an email they would not need a payment(they needed to verify insurance). Stay far away. They charge a $39/month membership fee in addition to the per session charge of nearly a hundred dollars. We first had a trial and during that trial I listened to my daughter tell the person on the phone she could not make a certain day because she had school. The person scheduled it anyway and they charged me for it. I called and spent hours on this, they finally had to pull tapes to prove my daughter was correct and it should not have been charged.
