What stood out in my visit started with Liz who runs the desk at Dr. Mekelburg's office.She was kind and compassionate and knew how to make me feel welcome and part of instead of being an outsider. She is one in a million. Then I had the visit from the good Doctor and my worries were eliminated with his bedside manner and again kindness and thoroughness.He is an expert in his field with almost 50 years of experience. Excellent care, staff, appointment scheduling. Highly knowledgeable and attentive. A doctor’s doctor as I work at the same hosp. I know who is the best.
Dr. was professional but kind and listened to me. He did a very thorough skin check of my body for skin cancer. He also took a biopsy of a skin lesion I was concerned about and I felt very little pain with it. He reassured me that he would call with the results the next week. His staff is fantastic too. I am old and have trouble bending down. They put my shoes and sox back on me after my exam. I visited Dr. Mekelburg today (1/15/24) for an overdue skin check and for evaluation of a particular skin surprise. In addition to Dr. M’s deep experience and kind manner, the office protocol and treatment options are modern and inspire confidence. I have recommended him to others just as someone recommended him to me back when mom jeans were originally very cool.
6 monthly mole check, Tried closer to where I live not comparable … worth the drive . Expert care, great helpful office staff.

I have been going to Dr. Mekelburg for over 25 years, he’s seen me through, pre cancers, squamous cell carcinoma and simply the “nothing to worry about” spots. His office staff are kind and funny, making my long drive worth it!
