Ordered seafood risotto, out of it, so ordered shrimp scampi instead. I was served prawns, not shrimp, with heads & tails, as well as prickly arms/legs. First and last bite included a prickly arm/leg :( Also smelled fishy. Other meals were mediocre, at best. Service was very good
We went here for the first time for my birthday dinner before a show, and I was excited for the art and unique decor (and of course food). We were asked twice if it was indeed my birthday, though they never bothered to do anything (although two other tables did get recognized). The food often arrived cold or like-warm, the service staff practically ripped our plates from our hands before we were done eating for multiple courses, and kept rushing us to leave the table. The food itself was ok but not at all remarkable. This fe... read more
We've lived in the neighborhood for 25 years and our family has been going here for 25+ years and we will not be returning after yesterday's experience. It seemed the waiter wanted us out of the restaurant within 20 minutes (his phony politeness was obvious, he asked us for drinks and food order at the same time and never asked if we wanted a glass of wine after the food arrived but was eager to remove the wine glasses from the table). Our entrees arrived less then 3 minutes after we placed our order and the chicken parm loo... read more
Mediocre at best We won’t be returning here, way too many better options in New York The bread was the best part of our meal
The only thing better than the food was the service :-)!
The prices are absolutely ridiculous for the quality. A simple 9 oz glass of wine was $31.00. Yes, it is New York City and yes, it is across from Carnegie Hall and convenient but buyer beware. My food came out lukewarm and I had to send it back (which I rarely do). The portion size was decent for the chicken parm dish but it was not worth the price. The cannoli was delicious so there’s a positive. My spinach side dish was bland and cold when it came out so don’t bother with the vegetable side. I tipped appropriately but cons... read more
Food was below expectations in terms of taste and size of the dishes. The only exception was the tiramisu, that was delicious. Very expensive for what it is.
I guess it depends on your expectations. There were many tourists when we went with multiple large groups with children, so I imagine that it's good for families and people looking for something near their hotel or near attractions. As native New Yorkers, we were mostly disappointed. My shaved brussels sprout salad was very good, but the shrimp that I ordered with it were small, overpriced, and oddly cold. My dining partner had the chicken parmesan which though a good-sized portion, was lukewarm, came with no sides, and was ... read more
overpriced, waitress put extra expenses on the bill. With tip and taxes, the bill was over $750. wasn't worth it.
