still vibrant and with exceptional hosts, the food is losing a bit of its care. the contorni, for example, are very tired.
A fabulous meal and a "to die for dessert" (vanilla cake with meringue) Excellent service!
Across from Carnegie Hall. Broad Italian menu with lots of choices. Friendly waiters. I rated noise as moderate but bar scene can spill over into the front dining area where I like to sit.
We went here for dinner prior to going to the ballet. We were greeted by 2-3 folks before being seated. The food was delicious, as was dessert. It's a very dynamic place. Will definitely keep this on the "go-to" list for visits to NYC.
As always, the service and food at Trattoria Dell'Arte are beyond compare. We had dinner following the theater and started with the eggplant caponata, which was excellent. My husband had the calves liver, which he said was delicious, and I had the veal parmigiana, which is the best I've ever had. Love the extensive wine list and the service is incredible.

It is a wonderful place to eat before the theater.......it is a short walk to the theater district from the restaurant

It's a terrific restaurant near Central Park South and Carnegie Hall. Great food and service. Homemade mozzarella is one-of-a-kind. Spotted Kofi Annan in there during Sun brunch.
