As first time home buyers they expected us to know more information than we actually did(yes we received the booklet and read through it). That left some unpleasant surprises for us closer to our closing date. We would've pushed more for certain items from our past landlord. Personally, she could've provided a more heads up when it came to us not receiving certain funds back rather than adding it to closing finances to "save us money".
