Mike Kelley inspected our home for a potential buyer. We had a custom built in entertainment center in the basement that had an access panel to the main water shut off. Instead of using the panel, Mike ripped the entire entertainment center from the wall! Pulled off the trim, paint, caulk, some pieces of wood and everything else that it was attached to. A carpenter would be needed to repair the damage. Repeated calls to his office have gone unreturned. Own up to your mistake, Mike. Bad enough that we have no control over who... read more

The home inspector and termite inspector both arrived on time for the scheduled inspection. I received a detailed report after the inspection and was able to bring the findings to the attention of the sellers who graciously fixed nearly every issue that was found. However, there were several major issues that were not discovered during the inspection that should have been found. The first issue is a large carpenter bee infestation in the rear deck of the home that I had to have treated the first week of moving in. There were... read more

Service was okay... we previously had a provider that wrote up and printed the inspection while we waited - maybe 10 minutes... this service was prompt because we had a deadline to make so they went out of their way to get it to us the Monday after the inspection... inspection was thorough and they provided a pretty good report, again not as quick as the previous service and the report seemed more comprehensive... the homeowner complained about the state the home was left, so I guess the inspector didn't lock up completely a... read more

The home inspection seemed reasonable at the time. Two years later the home inspection seemed like a complete waste of time and money. Our inspector Mike B missed so many huge issues. These issues cost us tons of money, and are going to cost us tens of thousands more. Simple things like our windows installed in a stucco wall being flashed incorrectly were not noticed, and not pointed out in the report. At the time we had no idea what to look for and trusted the wisdom of our home inspector. Big mistake. Two years later we ha... read more

He was early by half an hour. He called to see if it was OK. Quickly placed the equipment and left. Came back on time to take equipment. Sent the data via his phone and received the report an hour later. They even offered suggestions of radon remediation. Radon detection.

Before reviewing Value Guard's service, I would like to explain why I chose Value Guard in the beginning. As a first home owner, I do not have much knowledge on house, so we want to find a trustable and professional inspector to carefully inspect the house which we are purchasing. After studying the internet, comparing over 15 inspectors' websites, and checking the websites of Angies List, Better Business Bureau(BBB), and American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), we finally decided to go with Value Guard (although their pr... read more

It did not go smoothly. Chase promised more then they delivered and I was on the phone with him in the first 5 minutes. I hired them for a home inspection. When I first called, I spoke to Chase and advised him that my biggest concern with the home was that there was a bulge on an exteriror wall. He assured me that the inspector was very experienced and would be able to give explain whatever the problem was. The Inspector was Mike and when I asked him eto look at the bulge he couls onlt speculate about the problem and he refu... read more
