I don't use my Vonage account/line much, but need to maintain it for business reasons. This new app has opened up a significant number of new uses for my Vonage line. Now it doesn't have to be a "seperate line" that I have to go into and manage. I can make calls from my iPhone and it appears as if its coming from my Vonage line. I had to make a call to the UK (from the USA) the other day. I use Extensions primarily to call Brazil. Absolutely reliable to landlines, but often fails to connect with cell phones.
I've been using this app for as long as it has been out and I love it. Being able to use my cell phone like my home phone is great. I travel a lot and my rates transfer to myself phone and free wifi is available just about everywhere so it doesn't eat into your data.
This is a handy app for answering my home phone, but some features need to be addressed and improved. First, missed calls often don't show up in the recents list for hours. Second, there is no indication of voice mails that I have seen, and the voice mail page is well hidden and tedious to get to (requires password entry every time, even though I set Remember Me on). Once there, listening to and managing messages is clunky and buggy.
I depend on Vonage & it doesn't let me down.
Great App. So easy and affordable to stay in touch with family.
