I've been using this for several weeks now along with my home service. The program works as advertised. I've yet to see the bill to be really sure. :) The user interface needs work. 1) To start with, there's an initial tone that announces the connection is made and the remote phone is starting to ring. This is here presumably because it takes a few seconds for the call to actually start ringing. But, this tone is loud as if on speaker phone and can be disturbing and annoying to others around. Excellent app just love it. One small update they could do is to once the call complete they should bring it back to the app rather taking it to regular phone. Due to this I ended up calling from regular phone thinking dialed from Vonage and paid huge amount :-(

Sometimes, the connection tone increases to a very high volume on its own. There is no option to turn the connection tone off except when the phone is in silent mode. They might as well fix the issue where the app returns to itself if the call doesnt go through rather than then the phones call log.
This app is great. It does exactly what it is intended to do. Those bad reviews posted are ludicrous . They think it does what Skype will provide. This is an Extention of your Vonage account. Just like the name says "Extention". It's perfect. THANKS!!! Vonage!!!
Yes, it does use your cell minutes but no extra international charges. Crystal clear too. It's great that I don't have to be at home to make an international call or pay Verizon international rates. Try Vonage mobile too. It's pretty cool. Very similar to viber. Also, with Vonage mobile you can call Vonage landlines. My parents are older but the have a Vonage home phone. When I'm in europe, I can call the for free as long as I have wifi.
Yeah it uses my minutes but atleast i dont pay international fees. And just follow the app guidelines make sure the call says vonage call and you will be fine. I enjoy having extensions and i hope it does not go away it helps to be able to contact friends and family in different countries when necessary.
Very useful app! Some improvements: 1. Placing a call takes up to 5 seconds before dialing starts. Instant would be great. 2. Sometimes it feels like stuck/hanged. Needs force close & restarting. 3. Can remove the initial splash screen which shows up every time to make start up & resume of app faster 4. Paste number option in dial pad Just these 4 fixes will make Vonage app the best with 5 stars!
