As always, service was great and W.A. Frost was decked out for the holidays. Food was overall great (duck confit a little dry, but everything else was fantastic). Michael did a good job advising us and tending to our needs.
W A Frost has been a jewel for many years, and on a wintry holiday Sunday was perfect for a friend get together. I had the Wassail drink, and it was amazing! Perfect for a warm brandy, rum libation. I had the pork belly and it was delicious! A bit of a spice but with kimchi one knows it is going to have some flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant for its ambience and lovely food. Of course the outdoor patio is one of the best in the Twin Cities, but we will have to wait a few months to enjoy that again.
Food was great, service not so much. Very inattentive, and we waited for a very long time to be waited on initially, and then a very long time to get our drinks. Waitperson seemed very distracted, and uninterested in table service. In retrospect, the 20% tip we left was excessive for the quality of service we received.
Great experience in St. Paul - wonderful that they have their own parking and you don't have to deal with street parking. Attentive service, high quality meal for the price and beautiful decorated for the holiday season.
We had a perfect lunch, our service and food was excellent. They do everything right
Ticket times were so long that when we got our entrees 2.5hrs after arriving, we had to have them boxed so we could make it home to the babysitter on time. The server did comp our entrees, and apologized saying that everyone had long ticket times. The ambiance was outstanding! Love the building, the décor, and the fireplace! We'll probably be back, but not on a Friday evening.
Nick and I found it challenging finding a parking spot (no one in valet knew how to drive a manual car) But once we made it into W.A., we were awed from the word go. Being our first time here, we were like little kids gasping and appreciating every detail embedded in each room. Cozy decor, traditional, fire place, french doors, high ceilings, great art collection and the music in the background enchants the entire place. If you need a change of environment, this is the place to be. Our server Ryan was nothing but remarkable,... read more
We dined at W.A. Frost on Dec. 9th and it was a true dining experience. We decided to go here before see going to the Ordway Theatre. We actually arrived about 10 minutes early, but the sat us immediately anyway, which was nice. The restaurant was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. We loved the fact that no one rushed us through any part of the meal. We didn't even realize we'd been there for an hour and a half until we left. The food was wonderful and it was great to be able to have a smaller portion of the entree whic... read more
We went for the great ambiance and to see the beautiful Christmas decorations. Our hostess was very pleasant and helpful.
