Updating my review to include a dinner photo. Unbelievable service, care and extraordinary staff bending over backwards to keep the residents happy. Very clean, upscale and luxurious. Beautiful and detailed. Extremely happy with Walnut Village!!
Heard about this place from a friend. Went to check it out for an elderly family member. Very nice and well maintained. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The restaurant food is great. Very fresh and flavorful. The restaurant staff is great too. Javier P. takes extra care in preparing meals for the residents and their families.
I perform at retirement communities all over So Cal and this is one of my favorites! The place is gorgeous, the residents are friendly, bright, engaged and intelligent and they have a dynamite activities director.
I recently had two visits to Walnut Village to see residents. Impeccably clean grounds and rooms and wonderful experience. Good security for entry to facility. I was very impressed.
This is an outstanding retirement community, run by the non-profit Front Porch organization, which took over in the late 1990's from Cal Lutheran Foundation. All of the buildings, some dating from before WWII, were torn down in 2004, and a brand new, state-of-the-art Independent Living campus, with assisted living overlays, and Summer House, a memory support section, were built and opened up to residents in October 2009. On an January visit to learn, Walnut Village felt like a top-tier hotel or cruise ship. This was driven home by the beautiful plants and the finishes in the restrooms by the lobby as we prepared to leave. It was like a Four Seasons throughout and not like a facility for seniors. Touring Walnut Village with Anita, the units were more spacious and more homelike than expected, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen with excellent attention to quality. A beautiful building and grounds, lovely apartments, two good restaurants, great activities. Better than that, an amazing staff of caring people. Everyone there, the front desk, the administration, the nurses, the housekeepers and everyone in between are professional, caring people who do their best to make life run smoothly. You won't find a better place!
My parents have lived at Walnut Village since it opened in Fall 2009. They are original charter members and have participated in Walnut Village activities since before their residence was ready for occupancy.
