Let me start by saying a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Whiting and his staff! This morning I woke up excited, anxious and nervous for my 7:15am LASIK appointment at the Whiting Clinic to rid myself of glasses. I have been contemplating lasik for sometime now and finally made the leap to have it done and could not be more happy! I have 20/20 vision 24 hours post surgery and am able to throw my glasses away and take the restrictions off my license! Thank you for the life changing procedure!! Like most people say, I wish I would have done it years ago!!
I got my procedure done back in December and absolutely have been LOVING not wearing contacts or glasses. I was horrible at taking my contacts out at night and was sick of being told that I’m ruining my eyes, I just couldn’t change this bad habit. I remember when I first got contacts and walked out of the store and thought, "Wow, I feel like everything is in super HD. How did I ever live without these?!" Fast forward 6 years and I was constantly frustrated with how annoying my contacts were. I have worn glasses since I was 6 years old (I’m 24 now). My prescription was a -10 in both eyes and I had an astigmatism in my left eye. Because my prescription was so high, I was very susseptible to infections and inflamed corneas (which happened frequently). I felt like a slave to my glasses and contacts.
