We visited Springfield to see our daughter at MSU and went to see the museum while there. We went on a Thursday and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was very nice and helpful. I liked the way it was laid out and how you had to watch for the arrows to continue our journey. We weren’t expecting live exhibits such as the penguins or the bear so that really adds to the experience. I thought the animals looked well cared for. Great family activity. Plan at least 2 1/2 hours for the aquarium side and at least 2 hours for the museum. There's a lot to see and if you go mid day you'll might see the feedings. Seems that new things appear all the time.
A little pricey, but was very educational for my grandkids and they enjoyed everything as did my wife, daughter, and myself.
This place is truly one of a kind. I loved all the different areas. I have a family membership and can't wait to go back again. I could stare at the octopus all day.
Beautiful! Worth the wait and the money. Set aside at least 4-5 hours to tour the entire museum. Directionals from exhibit to exhibit could be made a little easier to see/find. Friendly staff. Well done all in all. I'm definitely going to go again and recommend to all I know!
We went this past weekend with our 10 year old son loved it all He said the aquarium was his favorite but seeing all the animals in the museum is also very neat.
