Good Job But One Shortcoming I've used this brand of pool cleaner for years, but the one shortcoming it has is it will occasionally become trapped in an area of the pool such as a corner that contains a sharp bend or at the bottom of entry steps where they intersect with the pool wall. Other than that, the Barracuda does a good job of cleaning the pool.

Better than most.. I found this better than the competition's product but not perfect. It cleans all over but doesn't always pick up the leaves on the bottom. While the price is better than say, the Kreepy Krauley, it's a little high for this type of cleaner. And there seems to be some price fixing as sellers almost all charge the same $324 on all sites? It never goes on sale?

Ease of use I’m extremely happy with my Zodiac G3 pool vacuum. You really need to go online and download the manual. The quick setup guide for myself is vague. I had one minor problem with the vacuum head getting stuck in on of my pools bottom step corner. I adjusted 1 of the pool filter returns. This solved the problem. The online manual has a decent troubleshooting guide. Make sure you adjust how much suction is being applied so the pressure valve is at 3 and enough hose. All returns are pointed downward. Make sure the Zod... read more

maybe this time ,, The media could not be loaded. this is my 3rd one ,first one lasted for 7 years with no problem just normal maintenance which is just diaphragm at about 20 dollars , then it just got chalky and started cracking it was used 8 to 10 hours in a Florida pool all day all year , so i think thats pretty good , then i bought no.2 and it only lasted one year ,thats unacceptable, but it was a flimsy one to start with looked was a zodiac g 3 but did not fill the quality maybe it was a knock off i don't know , ,so now... read more

The best there is I had the G4 and miss the looks on that one. My G3 replaced that some 15 years ago. I've since replaced the parts on that and it worked for over 15 years. I replaced parts, and none of it was original Zodiac, but it still worked. The hoses were original, but after all those years, it was just worn out. I decided I'd had enough of dealing with it being stuck and my duct taping the holes on the cartridge and whatever else.SO! I got a new one and happy I did. It works just like a remember. I have an 18k pear sh... read more

Not sure yet, but better than others This is the third barracuda-like pool vacuum that I am trying. It is about 4 times the price of the earlier two which were under $100. It might all be due to the 39ft Zodiac hose vs the 33ft hoses of the others, so i am reserving judgment.Dont know yet if the price differential is worth it.I cant help but think the cheaper Chinese versions probably use the same technology as the Zodiac Barracuda, so maybe it's all about the hose diameter and length.I have to say that I spent over 4 hours ... read more

A minor learning curve The thing went together and is brilliantly designed with one moving silicone diaphragm. It initially went to town but soon quit. I thought it had broken. The key to operation is getting the "mouth" of this cleaner flat on the floor for the "magic" to happen. When correct, the diaphragm oscillates and moves the cleaner along at decent rate. Break that seal and it stops. Mine broke because it got to the end of the hose limit and it broke the seal. (My pool is fairly large at 25-30,000 gal.) The cool thin... read more

So far, this is the best suction pool cleaner I've owned. Right out of the box, it was easy to assemble and get working. For context, I have a 20x40ft "party" pool with pebble tech.I had issues with it getting stuck in a corner by my steps, but I adjusted where the weight on the hose was the best for my pool (right near the end of the first hose), and I took some hose lengths out (I had too many). Now it cleans like a champ.I had my doubts, after watching it shimmy it's away around my pool, but the results speak for themselves... read more

For me...it gets no better I've had a kreepy krawly for last three years. To be fair, it came with the pool that came with the house and it is likely older than three years. I've purchased several parts for the krawly - new foot, new rollers, pretty much the regular wearable parts. I also put new hose on the unit. Constantly sticking on drain and not moving around pool well. Spent a lot of time brushing pool towards deeper end where the Krawly would hopefully clean. Finally got tired of it and thought time for new. Researche... read more
