Just throw it in, fill the hose with water holding it over the outlet, attach it to your pump inlet and watch it roll around cleaning the pool One major design flaw is the hoses they use are the worst I've ever seen as far as durability goes. 5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed We've named him Alistaire. He cleans the pool every day. He even climbs the walls. He climbs 2 stairs but my stairs are very shallow so he can't quite manage to get up the 3rd step, but he does a great job on everything else.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but hoses break to soon. Does a very good job cleaning the pool. I rarely have to vacuum the pool manually. But the hoses snap in half too easily after 2 seasons. So prepare to replace the hoses after 2 years. But for the time it saves me, it's worth the cost.

3.0 out of 5 stars HOSE Does NOT last! I guess the unit functions OK but the hose is extremely delicate and each section has split over the time I've had it now just around 1 year. Disappointing seeing that I found an old used HEYWARD unit that works much better and the hose is still functioning fine after the 6 months I've had it and however many years old it was before I got it. I'm sure the Arizona sun and UV rays don't help, but I left the hose in the pool while using the other unit and it still falls apart.

I have a small, 5500 gallon in-ground fiberglass pool. The entire pool has a "lip" or bench and a useless lounge deck. No other vacuums were able to come close to cleaning it. Until this guy.
