OEM parts matter? It will be interesting to see how long this one lasts... for 40 bucks for a simple rubber part, let's hope it lasts at least a year.
Best part to buy Unfortunately this part goes out every couple of years. I tried the no name ones and they only lasted a few months. Buy the name brand!
Genuine Zodiac for best performance I tried clone replacements and they fail quicker than genuine Zodiac. The genuine part is worth the extra cost.
The diaphragm's sucking ability is directly related to your pump's pressure and water distribution Where I live, I get little pebbles in my pool, which destroy almost every automatic pool cleaner on the market. The only thing that works is the G3 or Jacuzzi equivalent (Jacuzzi is far lesser quality). I'm not sure what the others on here are doing, but I get 3 -4 years on an OEM Barracuda diaphragm and 1 - 2 on the Jacuzzi knock off. Keeping larger stones out of your pool is critical (3/4" - 1"). Seems Like the OEM Part Slightly less vigorous pulsing action than the cheaper aftermarket parts I have used for the past few years. Still results in the shaft unscrewing from the foot assembly, but there doesn't seem to be a good fix for that. I have seen duct tape mentioned by professionals. I was thinking a small SS screw? Anyway, appears to be a good fit and hopefully should outlast the two for less options that are on the market.
Don't fall for a cheap immitation. I have tried the "cheap" immitations and they just don't last. A few more bucks and you get at least double the life.
Great replacement for the diaphragm Easy to install, i will see how long it lasts.
