Fore two years, I had a 90 year old Uncle with dementia at the Aegis - Fremont facility. My uncle is a difficult customer. He's still smart and can be very angry as his disease progresses. He also had a bad wandering problem. I call him "Steve McQueen" because he is so good at escaping. But with all of that, the Aegis team was fabulous with him. They were patient and flexible. My Mother lived at Aegis-Fremont for a little over 5 years. She went in initially for Assisted Living. However, her mental condition deteriorated due to Alzheimers and she was moved to Memory Care. I visited with my Mother virtually every day she was at Aegis and I got to know the facility, management and staff very well. I was always impressed and grateful for the wonderful care she received. Mom has lived in Aegis of fremont since January, 2010. She was diagnosed with alzheimers and her doctor is amazed that her memory is still has good as it is. Mom loves her apartment, the staff, and the activities. I believe that all the activities keep mom engaged and help her stay healthy. It is expensive, but it is definitely a cut above other facilities. Sandy May, 2015

I cannot say enough about the amazing care my mother received at Aegis. The facility is beautiful and the staff were first class. My mother spent her last year and a half at the facility and I will be eternally grateful to these folks for making it as dignified, caring and compassionate as possible. There are two Aegis facilities in Fremont; I'm reviewing the one on Walnut. We are so grateful for the amazing and caring staff who are taking care of my Mom. She has health and memory issues, and they make her feel safe and respected. They gently encourage her to socialize and they make sure that she feels included but not overwhelmed. We particularly like that when she touches the call button, a staff member answers in less than 6 minutes--guaranteed. We can pull up electronic records to check, if we want. ... read more

I moved my 90 yo father here in April of 2011. He had been living in a very nice Erickson Community in MD but we wanted him close to us. I looked at four places in the Bay Area and Aegis would be able to keep him no matter how badly his health deteriorated (i.e., he did not have to move to a 24 hour nursing facility). The facility is very nice. There is a lot going on. He has even taken field trips. I ask how he feels quite often and he says he likes the place. Horrible place. New Management only cares about the money. Always short of staff .... This place used to be good but has really gone downhill. So glad I moved my mother out of here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Staff are so rude and would even treat the volunteer students BAD. Scott the director not sure if he's still there gives me the creeps. They don't care about ur parent or grandparents don't bring them here.
