We are very grateful for your positive influence on our son. He has been doing great since coming back home. The best testimony to your influence is how much our son talks about the different staff members and visiting speakers and other students. He wants to call back and visit. Thank you very much for all your hard work. We thank the Good Lord for all. And are so happy to have our son home. more »

Agape allowed our son to get away from his negative choices and all the distractions or culture. He was able to make up for lost time academically and spiritually. He completed 1.5 years of missed academic credit in 6 months and completed his high school diploma. We are thankful for Agape. more »

We will forever be grateful for the ministry and mission of Agape Boarding School. The key principles which they aspire to achieve (building a close relationship with God; rebuilding trust with family; teaching young men to be productive citizens, etc.) are closely adhered to in the daily actions and witness of Agape’s staff and leadership team. Our son, Thomas, has grown tremendously in his faith; his respect for others; and his general work ethic. He created his own destructive path into Agape but gradually earned his way out. We are abundantly grateful that Thomas has been safe, sober, free from social media, and engaged in regular prayer these past 19 months. We pray that his path ahead remains focused on the transformative foundation laid at Agape Boarding School. G & S more »

I strongly recommend Agape boarding school, located in Stockton Missouri. You will not find a better group of people dedicated to helping young men. I personally have been associated with this home for 22 years and have seen some amazing things. Not only does Agape do a great job teaching academics to your son but also a tremendous emphasis on helping them spiritually. If you are looking for a place that will help your boy I highly recommend if you are looking for a place that will help your boy I highly recommend ago Agape.

We have witnessed Agape Boarding School for well over 20 years now. It is one of the finest schools and atmospheres that any young man could be in. Thank you Bro. Clemensen and Ma'am for the work that you do and the vision you have fulfilled. The extra curricular activities are second to none and the work shops that are being developed will further enhance the young men's skills for the coming challenges in the road of life ahead. Praise God for the work you are doing and keep it up!! more »

We love Agape Boarding School, the staff and all the men who work with the boys are very dedicated and really care for the boys! This is not a job to them IT'S A MINISTRY as they work long hours 6 days/wk pouring into the boys and holding them accountable. My son was only there 8 months because he just wasn't progressing academically, so we needed to find a smaller classroom type setting with an instructor. Although, his time was shorter there than the 12 month commitment we still saw quite a difference in him and what God faithfully poured into him during that time period produced good long lasting fruit that he is using and applying in his next school program. Thank you Agape and all the staff for your tireless dedication, your constant caring and unwavering attention to holding our young men accountable for their actions so they can be all God designed them to be! Prayers of blessings to you all!

My son spent 17 months at Agape and he came back a totally different person. We didn't deal with drugs or alcohol at home, but something just as bad: rebellion, peer pressure, dishonor, disrespect and lying. He has been home a month now and we are seeing the improvements flourish. A total 180!

The whole experience helped to bring him where he is today, but I must say that the Ranch Program is what ultimately helped my son the most. Riley, Justin, Terry and Tim helped to teach my son how to be honest, respectful and honoring. They also helped instill in him a work ethic he can use the rest of his life. Pastor Bill Lystlund also had an impact on my son.

Thank you to all the staff for helping my son.

Our son was at Agape for one year. He certainly appreciated it even though he didn't like it. He came to respect & love the staff. We have the utmost appreciation & respect for the staff in what they have to go through & deal with. They truly love these kids with an Agape love. Your son will come home a different person than he was when he arrived. Of course, it's ultimately his choice. Thank you Agape! more »

My son's experience at Agape was life changing! He entered the school 15 months ago angry, defiant, belligerent, disrespectful, etc... He pretty much didn't care if he destroyed his own life or those in his family. Now, he is home. He is not perfect but he has learned respect for authority, respect for others property and has the desire to do right. He is will to TRY! The time for my daughters and I do heal was priceless and the life lessons my son learned made the school worth it's weight in gold. Thank you Agape! Thank you to all the staff who poured into my son and gave him what he needed and thank you Lord who answered this desperate mom's plea for help! more »

Staff were compassionate, respectful, and helpful. My son learned to deal with his anger and frustration, in addition to recognizing the need to avoid negative influences. He is now a self-starter, relying on his own abilities and skills. The horse class was truly a gift because it taught him patience, self-reliance, and compassion.
Even though the staff have a challenging job, they always demonstrated concern for the boys at Agape.

Our son has come home a changed boy. He has recommitted his life to Christ while in Agape Boarding School. Relationships with his siblings have been restored and strengthened. He has good work ethics now. He works hard on our family farm without expecting pay. He acknowledges that he needs to get his energy out so that he can better concentrate and focus. His new talent since he came home is cooking. He has been cooking a big breakfast for his family just like he enjoyed on Saturdays at Agape. He serves a nice big pancake with sweet treats inside! more »

It has been my privilege for many years now to preach to the boys at Agape Boarding School. It is very evident that the entire staff takes their job very seriously and they have a genuine love for each and every boy in the academy. I'm thrilled for what the boys are taught in the classroom but even more thrilled to know the Bible is the main text book being taught here. I sure would of saved myself and my family a whole lot of grief and heartache if I would of known of Agape when I was a teenager. Thank God for this wonderful place. more »

Our son was already 17 when he began his stay at Agape. He had started his senior year failing school and in trouble with the police. A judge gave him the option of attending Agape or going through the legal system. He chose the school. He didn't like it much the first few months, but slowly began to see the benefits of being there. He has completed his studies, graduated and best of all got baptized. He has been home for about 5 weeks and is adjusting well. He is getting his driver's license, a car and has been working. He plans to enroll in a carpentry apprenticeship program this fall. The school and staff kept in us informed of our son's progress. They did wonders with him in just 8 months. We enjoyed the several visits to the campus. We had been praying for many months for an answer to the pain of watching our son spin out of control. Agape was just the answer we were looking for, praise God. more »

My son came home with respect for authority he desperately needed and a closer relationship with Christ. He can also maintain self control when he is becoming upset and appears to let the little things go. more »

I came in to contact with Agape Boarding School in 2010 while attending their July 4th festivities. Since that time I have been to Agape on numerous occasions. Where I have also been met by a staff member who works to care for my needs. I have had the privilege to work alongside the men as they have worked with the student body. I have witnessed firsthand their love for the students as well as their desire to help them become the young men that God created them to be. I high recommend Agape Boarding School. Brother Clemensen and the staff have a heart for the LORD and the work that God has given them. It is a first class facility, a first class program, run in a first class way. more »

we sent our son to Agape in January of his freshman year. He was out of control and ungovernable. The staff at Agape are amazing. The school exceeded our expectations and turned our son around. He just graduated in may 2017. We highly recommend Agape. more »

As active members of Agape Baptist Church, we have regularly observed Agape Boarding School students in church services, church activities, and Agape Baptist College classes. It has been a blessing to see Agape staff's love and dedication to these young men. Agape's Christ-centered programs provide the structure, Bible teaching, and quality education desperately needed by these students. In addition, church members love and support these young men, in many ways. We highly recommend Agape Boarding School!

I have known the Clemensons for over 30 years when they first started the ministry to help young people. They have always demonstrated a genuine care and desire to help young people. That desire was then and now to provide the the best program and facilities to fulfill that desire. My recent visit to the facilities in Missouri was to say the least an incredible place where their God given vision 30 years ago has reached even more than they could have thought. I would highly recommend their work and ministry without any reservation or hesitation. more »

I wouldn't trust a word any of these people say. The staff is abusive. They have a padded room they take students and "punish" them. They work them outside in the summer heat while only allowing five seconds of water drinking out of a hot spigot. They allowed abuse amongst their own staff of underaged boys. They are unkind, force their beliefs upon the boys, won't let them call home and censor every letter. Parents, send your kids elsewhere. Actually, just be parents and raise your kids. You don't need abusive men raising your sons. They'll turn out to hate God more than when they were sent there. Those they manage to brainwash will tell you otherwise, but as someone who has had to clean up the path of destruction they caused in my loved ones life, I would not suggest them at all. more »

About

Agapé Boarding School offers a wide variety of opportunities for troubled boys. We help boys get back on the right track toward a bright future. We provide accredited academics, counseling, mentoring, sports, and many of the activities that boys enjoy. We are one of the lowest cost boarding schools for troubled teens in America. Agapé offers the same (if not better) quality and outcomes as the more costly therapeutic boarding schools. In fact, we are about 1/3rd the cost.

Th sprawling ranch campus of Agape Boarding School, located in Missouri, is an amazing place with multiple sports facilities, a huge game room, pool, dozens of horses (including equine therapy), a vast array of exotic and farm animals, a rodeo facility, and so much more. The approach here is very disciplined and structured, but loving, relational and caring. Our belief is that a truly changed heart ultimately comes from a personal relationship with God.
