We went to Alexander’s with a group of friends during restaurant week. It was busy but not crazy- I mention this because we expected better service-water glasses sat empty, we had to flag staff down to reorder drinks, no one bothered to ask how our meals were. All fairly common expectations for a high end restaurant. Additionally, it seemed counter-intuitive to provide smaller portions in a restaurant week menu if your goal is to get return business. First time diners. Food was excellent. Server struggled to provide service in a timely manner - not sure if there were problems in the kitchen or just couldn’t keep up with his tables. Will definitely return!
Food was delicious. We were there for over 2 hours for a meal that should have taken 1 hour.
We went for Restaurant Week, namely for the prime rib. They had run out of the prime rib just prior to our arrival, and initially offered no substitution. Our server brushed over it and was basically saying “tough luck”. It wasn’t until we finally asked to speak to the manager that they offered steak in place of the prime rib. Our favorite restaurant in Hilton Head never lets us down. The service is impeccable and the food delicious. The best early bird value on the island as well.
