The menu and website touted “Local catch of the day. Straight from the dock to our kitchen.”. They served red grouper as their “fresh local catch”, which is not a local species, and was flown in packaged on ice. We could have gotten that in Atlanta. The server seemed annoyed that we even asked about the “local catch of the day” and it’s “freshness”. Still our very favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island. Also, BEST gin martini on Hilton Head Island with its signature hand-stuffed bleu cheese olives! And of course, EVERYTHING is first class. Wonderful local seafood and great service!!
We were seated in the bar area. We were by the window and had a lovely view of the water but the bar area was loud and I would have preferred to be in the main dining room. The food and service were good.
A second outstanding dining experience in just a three day period. Visiting Hilton Head Island for only a week and found this dining gem among the live oaks and palm trees of Palmetto Dunes. This attractive restaurant serving great food at competitive prices with terrific service is a wonderful break from the typical island restaurant where they practically throw the food at you to turn the tables as quickly as possible. Alexander’s is Head and shoulders above the rest. Try it!
Outstanding. We chose the "Early Bird" special, and there were so many choices, the food was amazing, and it was a great value. The service was also first rate, and we loved the view of the lagoon. We will definitely go back.
