DO NOT use this company. Our experience was horrible. Not only did they slow roll our move so they could charge us more, they included a $100 fuel charge (for a 10 minute drive) on top of the $160 charge for just showing up. THEN they broke multiple pieces of what they moved. I watched them run into my door frame with a glass item on a dolley and just say ?whoops? as it shattered. I� d rather carry my own belongings with both my hands rather than use this company again. Wait, I actually had to do that even though they were hired to move my Wife and I� s 700 sq ft apartment. Initially I was quoted around $600 for the size apartment. I was also told materials and padding would be extra (if used). They called to confirm the move 48hrs prior and when I gave them my moving details. My address didn� t even match the initial booking/move confirmation. I'm in total shock. I used this company to move a single bedroom (not a one bedroom apartment a single room) and mini fridge for my daughter 3.8 miles in between apartments. Note it was a bedroom queen bed w/metal frame no head board, tall dresser night stand, 2 TV's, tall lamp, few lamps, a tall mirror and a TV stand. I WOULD PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION. AMS is overpriced and are not upfront with their breakdown of costs. I paid $1283 to move my packed belongings from my 1BR 520 square feet apartment to literally down the road, only 1 to 2 minutes away in the same complex. When the final price substantially exceeded way more than what I had available, the manager Kris Sayer advised the movers not to open the truck door for unloading until they received payment. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. IF YOU WANT YOUR PROPERTY AND FURNITURE DESTROYED WHILE BEING TREATED LIKE TRASH, THEN HIRE THESE MOVERS. This was the worst moving experience we have ever had. I hired them to move my mother's furniture from Assisted Living. Minimal furniture and no boxes. It should have taken less than the 2 hr min because the move was 10 min away. The movers were a 55yr old man and 57 yr old woman. Obviously they were slower so it took over 3 hrs. The last item to be moved was a couch. It wouldn't fit in the elevator but as we weren't keeping it, I asked if they could put it on a blanket and push it down the stairs. SCAM!!!************ We hired All my sons to move a 1 bedroom apartment, We had around 12 cardboard boxes, 6 totes, a bed, a couch, and a coffee table, it filled around 1/4 of the truck. The quote was for $539. The movers were EXTREMELY slow, it took them 3 hours to load those listed items. When they arrived at the new place which was around 20 minutes away, the driver presented us with a new quote of $1,357, close to 3x the price.
