Ambra is the most elegant and well designed restaurant in McAllen. It should not surprise that it’s expensive. The staff from the hosts to the waitress were very skilled. The music was a little loud and clubby, and did not fit the sophistication of the space. I would go so far as to say it is currently the best restaurant in McAllen for 2023. But they spent enough money on the decor to earn it.
We loved Ambra! From our waitress to our meal everything was delicious! You have a great chef and staff! We will definitely be back soon.
I had a wonderful dining experience at your restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout my meal. The food was absolutely delicious. Waitress was professional, nice and made us feel comfortable. Chefs would deliver food with great pride. Manager/ owner checked in with us. Pricy, but I would highly recommend for a special occasion such as engagement, anniversary etc. Food was trademark to the restaurant.
Excellent Anniversary dinner. Very good appetizer although they didn't have the appetizer we wanted and was advertised. Steaks were very good. Mushrooms were great. Dessert wasn't quite what we envisioned (Tres Leches). Coffee could have been more. Wine was very nice. Prices a tad high. Ambiance and service was first rate. Overall, a great place.
The food and service was awesome. Waiter made great reccomendations based on our preferences and didn't just try to hike up the tab. Drinks were phenomenal and every appetizer we had was delicious. My wife and I had shrimp aguachile,oyster granitos, the amra street corn (cant remember the name on the menu) , and also tried the salmon o er fried rice. I had the chicken with Salsa Verde and my wife ate the seabass. Everything was delicious.

While the restaurant has an excellent customer service the restaurant food seems too pricey for the quality and quantity of the food served. The amount and variety of the bread with the smoked butter is rather skimpy. The steaks are cooked on point as requested but the price is too high. The seasoning is rather plain. Allow nice hats in the bar area. Had 4 friends with hats that left due to No nice hats.
