I stopped by at Ambra this thursday to celebrate a friend's birthday and I was left wanting more. For a restaurant that promises "great service", it was very dissapointing. Our server was more of an order taker and you could tell was trying to rush our service. Food and ambiance was great; however, I truly couldn't enjoy my food when the server kept touching the table and saying "anything else?" Every 10 minutes. Tables are not comfortable. Seats are low and tables have a bottom platform sticking out so my knees felt like they were under my chin - too high. Stuck in an uncomfortable non private bench seat next to other people and in the bar area no less. Not the kind of nice dinner out we want. Music not fitting for the ambience we wanted. To make a summary, it was very loud couldn’t even hear what the waiter was saying. Felt like Texas roadhouse loud and overly crowded.
$500 for a 4 person dinner plus a few drinks! Mediocre steaks, fishy salmon, small portion of deboned chicken. No appetizers ordered. Never again.
This review has nothing to do with the waiter, but from our experience of being there multiple times, we don’t know what happened yesterday. We started by asking for bread and butter, but the restaurant did not have any. Second, our appetizers. I requested oysters. Our food took 45 minutes to get to our table. There were other patrons that were seated after my date and I, and they got their food before we did. We specifically told the server that my gf had an allergy to the charcoal activated butter. He disregarded the allergy and still served us the charcoal activated butter. The server said that he would comp the main dish. However when I got the check. He only deducted two drinks from our bill. A shared restroom for both women and men?!? What perv designed this? So uncomfortable, plus food wasn’t all that great…. won’t return!
Did not worth the experience with the high price.
