I rented a home in ***********, ** for six months, an outside gas bottle aready was beside the home which fueled the fireplace. I paid Amerigas to fill the bottle one time and paid for the service. Six months later I moved out of the home. One year later I receive another bill from Amerigas for rental for the gas bottle which was not their tank to begin with, and for additional changes for $247. Do NOT use Amerigas. Check other companies near you and I bet they are half the cost. I made numerous attempts to speak with customer service to remain a customer with them, but nobody I talked to cared to assist me with lowering my bill what so ever. I switched companies and now have a bill for $460 for them to pick up my tank. My contract said it would be much less than that, but since my contract also states they can change the price at anytime, they said too bad. My propane tank was down to 5% and when the ice storm hit, we ran out of heat. The company was able to see on their end that we were low and did not even notify us. They then proceeded to charge us a $300 service call fee in order to fill the tank out of our regular delivery schedule. We were without heat for 5 days.
**************** is awful. Overseas call centers with representatives speaking with accents that even there own employees can't understand. Scheduled service appointments are not kept. Service **** arrive un-equpped to do the service required. The only thing that arrives on time is their bill.
0 stars. Every time I need to interact with this company, it is more unpleasant than the previous time. I have had to repeat the same information to 3 or 4 different people all for them to realize they cant help me and need to send me to someone else and start the whole process over. I am not surprised by the low rating that AmeriGas has received here. They bought out a local gas company and immediately ran it into the ground. I called to schedule a tank refill, the call center in ***** (apparently) gave me a 3-day window of when it would happen. They stated that I would receive an email the day prior, I did receive the email, but they were a no-show on the "scheduled" day of delivery @ $3.49 a gallon. I had called and spoke to AmeriGas emergency line requesting critical life safety heating propane fill due to being at 5% with less than a day of heating. I was told the district is shut down due to hazardous weather conditions and the soonest they could fill will be 02/09/2026-02/16/2026. Been a customer of ********************** for 5 years. Requested delivery through online portal when 500 gallon tank was 20 percent full on 1/24. We ran out of gas 1/31. Been calling every day trying to get tank filled but call center uninterest in helping. Still do not have a firm delivery date today 2/3. Temperatures below freezing every day. Will never do business with Amerigas again.
