Price gouging and then they charge you a final bill for pick up tank charge of 199.99 plus sale tax of 12.00 and the a app and service dispatch fee of 99.99 with sale tax of 6.00.

After being overcharged by over $1 per gallon compared to local suppliers I decided to purchase my propane tank to sever ties with Amerigas. I purchased my tank 06/21/2021 and as of 10/29/2023 I am still receiving bills for a tank rental fee. I have called over 6 times to explain this to their customer service and each month I get another bill with late fees after they tell me my account is closed and I shouldn't recieve another bill. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I cancelled my Amerigas service. Since my local company was bought by Amerigas, service has been terrible. Online orders were never delivered, when the tank ran out, I was charged an emergency delivery fee. The last straw was that I was charged nearly double the local average price (Amerigas -$3.95 gal when the local competitor was at $2.29 and the state average was $2.19).

I was charged more than $2.00/ gallon more than other people in my area. And now they won’t refund me, since I paid the bill.

Amerigas is money hungry. They lock you into a contract without notice and everything from that point on with their company has some sort of insane service fee. I ordered propane 2 weeks ago and they delivered it but locked my tank because no one was home to sign for a leak test (they did not notify me that I had to be present at time of delivery for a leak test). I terminated my AmeriGas account on October 14, 2022. A November 13, 2022 pick-up of the tank, which still had propane in it, was scheduled, but no one from the company ever showed up or called. I called and emailed several times over the past year, but nothing happened. On October 5, 2023, I received an invoice for $161.99 for removal of the tank somewhere around September 30, 2023. I would give 0 if I could. They charge an excessive amount of hidden fees. They do not honor the prices they quote. As a new customer was told my first fill up would be $1.709 a gallon. Then my second fill would be $1.889 per gallon. When I called to order my second fill they charged me $2.889 for my second fill. They claim to have no record of the quote. But I have a copy. Considering legal action unless it is resolved. Beware there is a three agreement on there contract. I will go back to a local propane service once my co... read more

Jeez.. I moved into my new house in July. I've been trying to get these ppl to come fill my tank ever since then. They finally came to put propane in my new tank 2 weeks ago. But failed to hook up anything. A month ago, they came and shut off my old tank because of a leak. They refuse to look for it so I had to spend thousands on new lines and digging my own trench. This company is a waste!! DO NOT spend your money with them
