We had a tank leaking propane. We kept having to have it filled. We smelled propane outside the house and AmeriGas could not appreciate the risk involved. It took many calls and when they finally came out to remove the tank it was at 10pm and the service man needed my husbands help him roll the 800 lb tank down the driveway. He didn’t know how to operate the hoist and needed my husband’s help . Today when I called and spoke with someone in a foreign country, she told me I could not get a refund . In May of 2023 they said our tank needed to be moved and they would put in a ticket to move it BEFORE they could refill it. They never put in a ticket, after many calls we finally got a new tank and refilled, now in December they haven’t come back and we are nearly out of propane. All phone calls go out of the country. The connection is often terrible and comprehension is questionable. Calling is absolutely pointless. We have no idea if or when our propane will be refilled. Amerigas is not interested in selling propane.
Awful. Prices almost double the average and other regular prices for my area. All sorts of hidden fees added regularly without notice- all higher than competitors prices. Outsourced staff for everything. Horrible service. No shows for service calls... that you'll still get billed for. Fee to rent tanks, even higher fee to quit and return tanks. This is theeee worst company I've experienced in my 50 years on this planet. For the past 12 months I have spent a total of 28 hours on the phone or through chat to try to be adequately provided service. Lack of propane deliveries during the peak winter months. A lack of any urgency. On 4 occasions Amerigas called me to give me a date for delivery in the winter months when my tank was less than 10% and never showed. Horrible. Quoted 1.69$ for propane per gal. Charged $2.22. Called 3 different times to get my second tank linked to my account. Failed all three times. Representatives put me on hold for over an hour then transferred me and that rep ended the call. Each time I call I am put on hold and it goes no where. Then asked to cancel account and they threatened me with over 400$ in early cancellation fees. Fees for the tank pickups and service fees.
On November 18, 2023 I moved into my house on 11/21/23 I contacted AmeriGas via telephone as this is the only way to communicate with them. I was set up with an online account. On 1 1/24/23 I had propane delivered without the tank being connected. No knock on my door or ring at my doorbell to alert me they just left the paper on the steps. Amerigas used to be a great company with an in-state office. Now, I ordered propane on their website to be delivered. I copied the information that was printed for my order. I am SURE GLAD I DID. For not only is the propane level down, which I updated online from when I first placed the order. Today is the last day for the delivery. And it is mid-afternoon. We finally received the propane of which Not ONLY was Amerigas changing the price that we were to pay, the driver OVERFILLED our tank. We were at 15% in the tank. And was then OVERFILLED so much that the tank gauge bottomed out. We had to call to obtain an overflow tank as we are snowbirds and would be leaving in a few days. They then were charging for the driver to install the overflow even though it was THEIR FILL DRIVER that was at fault. Now that we are back and we see that on the tank it now reads 30%. I called to cancel my service with AmeriGas because I could not afford their price per gallon and fees. They made me wait a month for them to pick up their tank. Then they charge me $300 for the pick-up. I had a credit that they said that I lost to them. I would not or ever will promote or purchase anything with their name on it.
ALERT ! Driver of the Amerigas company servicing zip 93551 is a lier who told dispatch the emergency gas delivery we had ordered could not be delivered since "our gas tank was not hooked up" . This is obviously a lie since we are using the gas as I type this. what happens with this driver is that he is lazy and does not want to come up to our ranch so he tells dispatch lies.
