If I could leave a negative star review, I would. First of all, my original propane supplier was ******* Propane who is a local supplier. At that point (25 years ago) the tank was furnished as a part of service. At some point during this time, Amerigas purchase *******. Service has gone downhill ever since. We have *** paying a rental fee of $125 per year for many years now. We requested a fill for the tank. We were told we would be required to pay a "leak test" fee. Amerigas has supposedly brought their customer service organization back to the ** which I had hoped would improve things, but not so fast.The latest nightmare is their inability to withdraw funds from an open and working bank account on auto pay for a $600 delivery.Then charging me a late fee for their problem.After 3 phone calls I connect to what I was told was a billing expert and he assured me the late fee was removed.Two days later we see the late fee has been taken out of the same bank account that their auto pay could... read more

I would not recommend AmeriGas. More than 30 years ago, I rented a small propane tank from Keen Propane in ******, a company that provided excellent customer service. I later learned that ********************** had acquired Keen only after I began receiving bills from AmeriGas. I never signed a contract with AmeriGas or spoke with anyone there about transferring my account. We canceled our account with ********************** several years ago (dare I say 4 years ago.) We canceled because they never delivered on time and always added upcharges and fees randomly. It's been a horrible company to buy services from. We called multiple times to cancel the service, but the automated bills kept coming. Then finally a man showed up to collect the tank, he then left us with another bill saying we have to pay a removal fee. We refused to pay that. Cancelled service and was told there would be a$400 pick up fee. When I questioned i was told there was a signed contract, which there wasn't, as they purchased the company I originally contracted with 20 years prior who did not have a pickup fee. After numerous attempts to contact, including email and phone call to customer services where I was transferred 4 times then cut off, I received a call and was told it basically doesn't matter.

I was renting a home with an Amerigas propane tank. When I moved out I closed my account with ********************** and they told me there were no additional bills or charges. Two months later, my card that they still had access to even though they were supposed to close the account, was charged $159. For no reason. I am still trying to get the charge reversed. Their customer service is absolutely atrocious. They are scammers who charged my card after my account was closed.

AMERIGAS ROBBED US BLIND... 1ST time home owner, no knowledge of cost of Amerigas Propane when looked at mobile home. Owner was in hurry to sell. No knowledge. Live on fixed income, SS & Disability. Amerigas charged us $4.12, $4.34 & $4.43 a gallon. Amerigas "DEPLETED SO MUCH $ of my husband's 401k" due to cost! We "switched companies" & now pay only $2.49 a gallon. My experience with AmeriGas has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences Ive ever had.I spent 3 hours on the phone just trying to establish service and schedule a propane delivery because our tank was completely empty. After finally reaching someone, I was told it would take 23 weeks before they could fill the tankeven though I explained that we had no propane, no hot water, and no way to operate our gas appliances.That level of service is simply unacceptable for a company providing an essential utility.... read more

We were on an auto fill policy and had to call several times to get propane. On one occasion, our tank ran completely out and Amerigas told us we had to pay a service charge to have our gas lines inspected. If we are on an autofill policy, why did the tank run empty? We ended up switching propane companies. On the day the new company installed their equipment, we called Amerigas and told them to come get the tank. This was on November 6th, 2025.
