This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We had different issues during our service time with them and each time we called customer service they gave us a representative that did not speak English and we couldn't understand each other. When their prices were finally too high for us we switched companies and told them to close our account and come get their tank. They started invoicing us for the tank and told us it would be $400 if we wanted them to come and pick it up. I wish we had never got involved with this compa... read more
They will only respond if they will make money. They charge twice the going price for propane. Try to close the account and they wont answer the phone. Do not do buissnes with them!
terrible customer service and they charge above going rates for propane. billed me $300.00 for an "emergency" delivery that ended up taking three days. Have been unable to get anyone on the phone. Tried again this morning and the recording said they had too many calls and disconnected me. driver lied about trying to get a hold of me and lied about being unable to access the property. asa soon as my tank is empty (so that I do not have to pay for propane removal) I will terminate them. DO NOT use this company
Amerigas is a SCAM! If I could leave less than a one star rating I would. Amerigas is a horrible company to deal with. We have been a customer and paid rental fees for 19 years. Our tank leaked over the winter. Their technician never fixed it and we lost all our propane. We decided to cancel our service with Amerigas. I recently changed my residential propane service because of unfair business practices. The propane service in the complaint is AmeriGas. When I canceled my service with AmeriGas they told me I would be charged a cancellation fee of $471. This is an unacceptable and outrages fee in that no other propane service in my area charges a cancellation fee. Also, AmeriGas stated it would be 4 - 6 weeks for them to come and remove their tank. I do not recommend this company at all. They bought the gas company we were using so we continued with them. The gauge on our tank was broken for two years and we were promised it would be fixed "on the next visit". A local company started selling propane so we switched. We were sent a final bill which did not account for the rental fee we had paid. I tried to call and email to ask about it. It took two months for someone to respond to my several email inquiries. You really need to track how much propane you have in your tank if you are set up for auto delivery. They continually come to deliver propane when I dont need it. They sent me an email last night 7:45 pm saying they were coming today to fill so I called them and I cant cancel the delivery because its en route and I have currently 60% full propane tank there is no reason for a fill this has been happening a lot over the last 2 years as Ive been tracking my fills and they are suppose to come when you are between 20-30% it seem... read more
I am filing a complaint regarding an unexpected $300 charge from AmeriGas.Due to a higher-than-normal gas bill, we contacted our landlord, who mentioned they might reach out to AmeriGas to request a service visit. Horrible customer service (2+ hours on hold) and ridiculously expensive ($127 fee) to cancel an unused service (pool heater propane) and have them collect their empty propane tank. This was a small tank that I rolled to my driveway for their driver to pick up and was charged $300 bucks for removal! $427 total just to end the service. What a scam...good riddance!
