The worst scam I have ever seen. AmeriGas will not come out unless you check a box to have a leak check for $140 dollars. The service guy literally sprayed a bottle of soapy water on 2 fittings and I was billed the $140 dollars. Even worse when I tried to resolve the issue I was connected with a representative who could not change address information of billing data.The company keeps you on the phone wanting you to hang up. When trying to leave Amerigas for another Propane company with better rates, I was sent a bill for them to come and pick up THEIR OWN propane tank. The bill was for nearly $500 dollars!! They use this strategy to punish people for leaving them or to manipulate them into remaining under contract. There is no way this overpriced fee should be allowed.
I don't even want to give them 1 star. Although I'm on auto-delivery and auto-payment, my tank was went to zero. In the dead of winter in between snow storms, I didn't have heat, a working stove, or HOT WATER and my 89-year-old mother living with me. Call after call, Amerigas gave me the complete run-around and told me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone. This is a horrible business. When you pay for a refill, it takes 10 business days after they process your payment to deliver your gas. Then they send you a message that your delivery is scheduled, and they don't show up, with no apologies, nothing. You are virtually at their mercy, especially in the dead of the winter.If you have an option, please stay far away from this company. Worst off, their customer service is useless. I am on always full program. My last fill was in August 2023. In 2024 I was charged tank rental but they didn't keep the tank full. During a major winter storm in January 2025 I ran out of propane at which time they blamed the storm for not being able to fill. It should have had gas because of the always full program. I was charged 3.43 per gallon when they did fill and I was quoted 2.39 per gallon if I were a new customer. Purely price gouging. Their customer service is beyond awful. There system is designed to intentionally hide your account dollars.Meanwhile determining fuel amount without telling the customer how much money is available in there account for the fuel. Leaving a blind spot for them to say well you got gas and no left over funds. It is criminal.Or fills that way
I'm signed up for automatic refill with Amerigas. I've been without heat and unable to use my stove for two weeks. The customer service line in India is completely useless. Their employees are very difficult to understand and they seem powerless to do anything for you. After five frustrating calls, I've been told that I'll need to wait another week for a delivery. Amerigas is the worst company I've ever dealt with.
If BBB had a rating worse than "F", AmeriGas deserves it. I am ready to abandon all my previously held aspirations and make it my life's work to discourage anyone from ever doing business with this inept and greedy organization. I paid $300 extra last Thursday and was told it would be delivered the next day. 4 days later still no gas. I dont believe the driver on the last delivery brought 700 gallons 6 week ago and its gone. Please can someone contact me?
