This company always let me run out of gas due to not repairing the gage on the propane tank at least twice a year. Every time I ran out due to the negligence of not fixing their tank, they charged me a 300-dollar emergency fill up fee. After dealing with this for longer than I should I called to have them come pick up their tank, Now I have received a bill for 200.00 dollars for them to retrieve their own equipment. Too bad a 0 isn't an option.
I have been an AmeriGas customer ever since they bought Hughes Propane. I paid $799 last year for propane for 100 gallons! They put a monitor on my tank, so I can’t see gas%. They failed to notify me as I have only 3 gallons left! Now they want $200 to deliver propane in next 72 hours! I must wait at least 7 days for delivery or pay the $200! My husband received a call telling us we would be able to have our gas delivered automatically without having to place the order ourselves any more. He was thrilled. Then gas was not delivered to our business, a kitchen, which cannot be open without propane. We ran out. It was horrible. In May of 2023 they said our tank needed to be moved and they would put in a ticket to move it BEFORE they could refill it. They never put in a ticket, after many calls we finally got a new tank and refilled, now in December they haven’t come back and we are nearly out of propane. All phone calls go out of the country. The connection is often terrible and comprehension is questionable. Calling is absolutely pointless. We have no idea if or when our propane will be refilled. Amerigas is not interested in selling propane.
Not happy with Amerigas at the moment. I scheduled an appointment for them to come out this morning and no one showed up. I received several emails making sure I'm here for the appointment prior to. I called 3 times just to get hung up on and finally on the 4th time I spoke with someone. He told me they are running late wich is understandable but not one phone call or anything. Wasting my time and energy.
We had a tank leaking propane. We kept having to have it filled. We smelled propane outside the house and AmeriGas could not appreciate the risk involved. It took many calls and when they finally came out to remove the tank it was at 10pm and the service man needed my husbands help him roll the 800 lb tank down the driveway. This is theeee worst company I've experienced in my 50 years on this planet. For the past 12 months I have spent a total of 28 hours on the phone or through chat to try to be adequately provided service. Lack of propane deliveries during the peak winter months. A lack of any urgency. On 4 occasions Amerigas called me to give me a date for delivery in the winter months when my tank was less than 10% and never showed. Horrible. Quoted 1.69$ for propane per gal. Charged $2.22. Called 3 different times to get my second tank linked to my account. Failed all three times. Representatives put me on hold for over an hour then transferred me and that rep ended the call. Each time I call I am put on hold and it goes no where. Then asked to cancel account and they threatened me with over 400$ in early cancellation fees. Fees for the tank pickups and service fees.
Amerigas used to be a great company with an in-state office. Now, I ordered propane on their website to be delivered. I copied the information that was printed for my order. I am SURE GLAD I DID. For not only is the propane level down, which I updated online from when I first placed the order. Today is the last day for the delivery. And it is mid-afternoon. We finally received the propane of which Not ONLY was Amerigas changing the price that we were to pay, the driver OVERFILLED our tank. We were at 15% in the tank. And was then OVERFILLED so much that the tank gauge bottomed out. We had to call to obtain an overflow tank as we are snowbirds and would be leaving in a few days. They then were charging for the driver to install the overflow even though it was THEIR FILL DRIVER that was at fault. Now that we are back and we see that on the tank it now reads 30%.
