RecommendedI have used this clinic since I moved to Des Moines 20 years ago and they have always been wonderful with my cats and dogs. They are empathetic, great at explaining, and check in regularly post procedures. Most recently one of our cats received a life saving surgery and he is looking 100% better even just two days later, plus they kept me updated through and after his procedure. Wonderful clinic and Lewis their office cat is the bonus on top!

Everyone was so kind and loving towards my kitten. I love how the cat and dog areas of the building are separated. Favorite vet clinic so far. 5 stars!

amazing staff amazing vet. They have always treated my dog and me amazing even know I was really struggling with Sashas diagnosis they were really their for us and answered every question they could even know it was hard. will definitely be coming back in the future very knowledgeable!
They were not judgmental (I had fallen behind on vaccinations), they got my pet in right away, and they cared. I also felt the Dr was thorough but didn’t push extras
The people here are kind and caring. I’ve been bringing cats here for many years. The price of having a dog neutered with vaccines was over the top expensive at $800+.

That also included the laser surgery that you elected, and an additional microchip. You will be set for the next 6 months with the heartworm prevention you purchased, as well! We have been taking our pets to Animal Care Clinic West for about 9 years and everyone is super friendly and genuinely care about your pet. The doctors will not pressure you to spend more money and when faced with difficult decisions they will explain all options available.

The staff at Metro Cat hospital were outstanding, and Dr. Heyer was amazing. I just moved to the area, and my youngest cat, Jade, has always been hard to handle at the vet. She's been especially agitated since our move, but this first visit was the best she's ever had. They made her feel comfortable, she was able to explore, and was trilling and rubbing legs on everybody. She's like a totally different cat. Best experience ever.

Dr. Heyer was wonderful!! She is very easy to talk to and presents all options for your pet. I came here because I was told my pet needed to be euthanized for a condition and no other options were available to him. My pet is old (17), but was not suffering and was acting his happy normal self, so I wanted to seek a second opinion. Absolutely! Best place for my cat who has behavioral issues of aggression. They take phenomenal care of her and helped her with medication at home. Whole new cat! Along with just recently she had a bad reaction to her yearly vaccines and they rushed to get her help.
