We've been pet owners for years and have never found a vet who genuinely cares about our animals until our visit to AMSC. We were alarmed when we found blood all over our blue and gold macaw's cage. Av'ry was in a lot of pain and quite sick. The receptionist worked our appt in that very morning w/out coaxing. Dr. Duprel saw how sick our bird was, found a blood feather, and took extensive time to go thru all her other feathers to find if there were more (totaling 7 blood feathers that had to be pulled). We left with a better ... read more
Amazing first experience today at AMSC! From the initial phone conversation to make the appointment through to the exam with Dr. John Tarabula, everyone was very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. We weren't pressured to buy anything or do unnecessary procedures. Our dog was treated like a star and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Prices are also reasonable and well worth every penny.
Better than most, but not the best of the best. They are willing to work with your schedule and help me get in on short notice. My favorite Dr recently left, but I will still go to them for routine care! They are pricey, but comparable to other vets.
Our beloved Standard Poodle experienced puzzling symptoms. We exhausted all other resources and finally found Dr. Tarabula. Not only is he one of the kindest-spirited vets, but he was as determined to find an answer as we were. He was never too busy to speak with my husband, and he called us often. We were force-feeding our dog multiple times a day and Dr. T worked with us as a team. He has a way of being compassionate and understanding, and I knew diagnosing our dog was high on his priority list. He took all the time it n... read more
Critical: Reliability, Responsiveness I waited over a week before leaving this review so ensure my raw emotions were not a factor. I have been with Animal Medical & Surgical Center since it opened and before when Dr Tarabula was in the building up the road before building AMCS. Since 1996 I have always been a loyal customer with all my precious animals from my dogs, parrot, cockatiels and chickens. Dr Duprel and Dr Marrianson are extremely compassionate and gifted veterinarians and have always given my animals their best. Th... read more
This facility has been taking care of our 4 animals for the paste 8 years. We have lost a Cat, and two dogs with them and through no fault of theirs. Since Dr John Tarabuka sold and left, the facility leaves much to be desired. Today I went to get a refill for some arthritis medicine for our 6 year German Shepherd and was denied and told she must have blood work, etc. The prescription we just finished was for one a day and was issued on July 1, 2021 with 30 tabs, one a day. Today, November 4, we are down to 2 pills so we on... read more

We have been using AMSC for several years & think Dr Duprel is an excellent veterinarian. But unfortunately, the Admin staff there has cost her our business & AMSC any recommendations from us. They have on several occasions been short but I had overlooked it. Recently I called to fill a medication my dog takes occasionally. I was told I had to bring her in. (We had just been in there a few months prior for a checkup & full panel bloodwork. We were offered a refill then but still had some on hand.) I tried to explain everythi... read more

Sharon, we are truly sorry to hear you had a negative experience with us and appreciate you taking the time to chat in more detail. Our number one goal is to offer exceptional care and service, so please know we take this feedback seriously. We would still like to discuss and explain a couple things that happened, if you are open to it. Thank you, Animal Medical & Surgical Center
I went here for a few years (and spent thousands of dollars in surgeries visits and meds) and Dr. Marrinnson is a great doctor. However, with two dogs on regular medicines, their policy of not approving prescriptions over the phone to online vendors made it impossible and very costly. It is AMSC policy that you must pick up a handwritten rx from them in person. Which will then have to be mailed into the online pharmacy. This was very time consuming and burdensome when they could have quickly provided an "ok" over the phone. ... read more
The quality of service has gone down while prices have increased. Front desk staff have become unfriendly and cold. I have taken my dogs there since they were puppies. Prices have gone up, too expensive for how they treat their clients. I have not problem paying for quality care for my pets, I refuse to pay the high prices and receive horrible service.
