They treated me like gold when the process began but, by the end of my experience with Atlantic Bay - I felt like I was just another number. This company has no soul. My mortgage banker was there one day and gone the next. When I managed to locate them they were working for another mortgage company in the area and I wish I would've moved my business with her.
Devorah made the impossible happen. She had brokered the loan out since I am 1099 with 1.5 years of experience. The company that did my loan was terrible and they were taking so long that I was possibly going to default on my new construction and $37,000 in deposits. Atlantic Bay decided to take on the mortgage on Monday and I was closed on Friday. She's a rockstar. Devorah, you made my wife's dream come true. You have a very happy client! Thank you!
Kendra did a horrible job handling my new home purchase/loan estimate. She failed her fiduciary responsibility to me as the buyer by failing to explain in detail the numbers in the documents she provided. She did not communicate in a timely fashion at all. She took 5 days to return my phone call and when I asked her about a question in the home contract, she said it was over 60 pages and she hadn't read it. This shows her lack of care and attention to me as a client. I would not do any business with her.
Do yourself a favor. Go with another company and lender. Communication is lacking to say the least. I was never even told what my interest rate was locked in at. It also took 3 months to close. I was not excited in the least bit to close. I was honestly just relieved the process was over. If I had it to do over again, I would not even go through the process
I called Atlantic Bay Mortgage My Loan Care to get our payoff letter. I was told it would take several days to get the payoff letter emailed to me. I told her that was unacceptable. We should be able to type in our account number and payoff date and the database should produce a payoff letter. I was given the wrong information as to the bank and address information to send our payment to. The bank that we did send our payment to received our payoff bank check on July 9th. Highly unprofessional individual in my opinion. Over a 2 month period of being told everything is looking fine and even signing loan approval documents we come to find out we are not approved out of no where. 2 months lost. Lost thousands of dollars and time after our house was destroyed by a hurricane. I feel like he lacks drive and communication skills that you need to be in a profession like this. I highly recommend not going using him as a loan officer
Working with Mike Yates was the worst experience someone could ever have to buy a house especially for the first time. We got qualified for a much lower loan amount that we expect with pretty high origination fee. A couple of weeks after, I asked him some questions, and his response was outrage. He accused me based on an assumption (he thought I'm working with a different lender) and after realizing he was wrong, he did not bother himself to apologize. I will not recommend this lender to anyone.
This was the absolute worse experience I have ever been through. I dealt with the Lakeland, Florida office and a Loan Officer named Jennifer Rowell. My construction loan was totally mishandled due to the lack of knowledge the Loan Officer had on well, just about everything. She gave me very bad advice, including buying a lot outside of my transaction, because she guaranteed that I would qualify for the construction program. The underwriting process was terrible. He locked our loan without asking as rates were falling. The he locked us in to prepay PMI without asking. The whole process was terrible and no communication. Ended up paying 1/2 percent more than I should have. Then get service is rediculous... I have an insurance check I need endorsed and cannot get anyone on the phone to tell me who to send it to.
