My dentist sent me to Austin Oral Surgery in San Marcos to have them look at a small place on my lower gum. I made the appointment and AOS told me it would cost 540.00 for the consultation. I have no dental insurance and thought that was excessive but went anyway. They first took the normal dental xray, then the Dr. met me in a room. He probed my gum with the dental gauge. RecommendedI was referred here by an endodontist for tooth extraction. They do not tell you in advance that FULL payment is due, PRIOR to any services. I was taken back for panoramic x-rays, given a 30 second consult, then put up front to discuss costs. I have full medical and dental insurance, which they will not file. $1700 out of pocket is very unreasonable.
