I booked an Avis car by Expedia. The worst experience ever. Avis considered the amount already paid to Expedia like a "voucher" and applied a completely different charge, disregarding the contract. One month and half, many mails after and no one answers to me about this big issue. STAY AWAY FROM AVIS

Flew in from the UK and collected our car from San Fran (Post Street) for the start of our Northern California road tour... all ok initially and staff were good. After signing the vehicle paperwork and being directed to our car I didn't think too much as to why the car windows had been left open as we drove it away from the point of collection.. Terrible experience, went to collect car and staff behind counter were very rude and unhelpful. Waited for our car to be brought down and after a line of shining mustangs we were presented with a dirty dented car, even had food left in inside. We were told that was the only one available and if we wanted to change it would have to take it to airport depot to sort out, refused to ring through to check availability. I would give this place no stars if it would let me - wouldn't us pay our deposit with a perfectly valid Australian Visa card. When we scrabbled to find other funds to pay the deposit they made us wait in line for a third time to be served. Rude, slow and no idea how to serve customers.

My recent rental experience with Avis was horrendous and their customer service is the worst I have experienced in my life. Worse customer service and money sucker. Booked my car at 10am and went to settle the transaction over the counter at 940am. Told me there was no car now and wanted me to upgrade to a bigger car for extra money so that I can pick up now. Said no and they ask me to come back later. Just want to get more money out from the customer.
